2.1 ESE53 will be Official Release on the VZW Motorola Droid

Ok guys, here is the info: I've just spent the last 4 hours contacting Motorola rep after Motorola rep and Verizon rep after Verizon rep. What I learned from all the conversations is that the update has not come out yet, but will be coming out soon!

They told me to sit here with my phone with my finger ready to push the accept the update button so that I could be one of the first to get it if it comes to my phone. After contacting them so many times they told me to keep my phone in my hand and be very ready to hit the button, and not miss it by contacting them till after I get it.

My arm is getting sore and my finger is starting to shake from being on constant alert.

Then you better have the patience of Linus in that Pumpkin Patch.....

I hope they pull it off.

The first thing this week that jumps to mind is that if the Milestone has 2.1 then we KNOW that it is not a physical issue with the Droid, but we knew that already.

I'll feel better when it is all said and done, then experience post 2.1 depression.
That feeling you get when you finally turn off LW, kill google earth because you need room for something useful, etc. . .

Then we'll all turn to flash and 3.0

Given the massive amount of waiting and hype and speculation, we're going to have to talk a lot of people off the ledge when the 2.1 update gets here and Droid doesn't:

Do laundry
Automatically drive your car
Cure terminal diseases
Feed starving children in third world countries
Provide Universal Health Care
Butter your toast
and lastly, Lower the sea levels and stop Global Warming​

Because you know, by now, we all expect this level of service when it comes.

Seeing is how the 3rd world countries are getting the update before we are, they are probably asking themselves right now why we aren't feeding them via 2.1... and us standing here with our thumbs in our pants just have to say... 2.1?? what 2.1?

I talked to a moto rep today and he told me that 2.1 was Bering sent to more test users today but he didn't know what would happen next if there were little to no problems. But my guess is that it will be here "SOON" by Friday at the least if the update is succesfull. I also asked about falsh and he gave me a link to the droids tec specks which didn't help me at all.

so what do people think of the whole "today" thing? i personally think its all rubbish. Kellex at droid-life asked if it was wednesday and Leandro said Yes, .... whatever. He doesnt even really know english. He just said that. I dont like droid-life. I dont know why. but i do not. so even though i would like for it to come out tonight and friday.... it wont. because NO one said it will come out today except Kellex. who i guess works for verizon?????

i dont trust that person and that site.

I have been checking the Motorola and VZW Twitter pages as well as other sources on the web, and the silence on 2.1 is deafening.

I think, when the problems are solved, they will announce it, and then we will get it. Until then.....

Exactly. Like i said before. This is not even about the update and what it has. it is the simple fact that these companies are failing to deliver this update especially when Moto pushes it to the foreign Milestones. That pretty much rules out failure on Moto's end. And i doubt its "bitfone" too. Seems like a scapegoat to me...
