You think that the 1000 updates went out without a hitch, and that message is for the batch of 9000?

The one from last week or this week? IDK anything about last weeks, I was thinking that his pic might advocate for this: Verizon to Try Again: 2.1 Update Coming This Week? | Droid Life: A Motorola Droid Blog

And for anybody who reads my initial comment... i was kidding about the damn fine reporting thing

The supposed one for this week. It could be real or it could be a fake text message he made himself with the sms faker app

I find that text a little hard to believe. First of all, Verizon seems to be referring to the update as ESE53, not 2.1. Also, what if the person does not want to be a tester? It doesn't look like they gave them a choice, unless he/she is an employee.

Did anyone else notice that the www.verizonwireless.com/droidsupport is currently down????

Something about that doesn't look right. Doesn't even look like a photo of a Droid... it's the screen only. Thinking it's not legit.

Legit or not, thats what a screenshot looks like.

I didn't know you could take a screenshot that looks like that.... Okay then...

yeah.. and you can see an icon for a camera in the notification bar, which would imply he took a screenshot. But i'm definitely not going to vouch for its authenticity. The man only has 10 friends on facebook (though he does have a wife...) so theres that. But why would he put it in the BGR comments if it were fake? its not gonna do much there, since the post before his was already two days old. I believe its real, but that deff doesn't mean that it is.

The camera icon in the upper corner = screen shot of phone.

I saw that... Probably down for maintenance. Unless the page got so many hits it crashed.....

Way, way too easy to read too much into that...

The pdfs gone too! we're fk'd its 2.01 forever... *noooooooo*

Could also be a good sign that they are reworking material in prep for imminent large scale release.

Don't read too much into things.

I considered that as well. My assumption is that vzw is sick of wasting time on 2.1 phone calls/dealing with the bad rap of 2.1, and they clearly don't have they're sh!t together so... they've pulled it until they're actually ready to deploy the update.

That or that FB is real, and you're correct

by the way, the full BGR comment is:

I didnt know how to get a picture on here so here is my facebook page. I was selected to be one of the testers for the 2.1 update. I was as surprised as you can imagine. nothing wrong thus far.

Yea I just used an sms faker, and I was able to produce the results as in that pic, so I believe it was fake.

I don't know anything about SMS fakers. But from the context it sounds like an app that could forge an SMS? So...what does it proofe that you could recreate it? I mean... is that not the purpose of an SMS faker?
