Not the answer. The "triangle" instead of the circle is standard in the new google map update.
Yeah, it looks like it's using the accelerometer to figure out which way you are pointing the phone.

But just think! The arrow shows you're always on the move.

Hate it, want the dot back!!! Grrrr.

That's my opinion and I'm sticking to it.

Ok, so I figure 5-6 hours before the update.zip is out there for us
if we're lucky :icon_ devil:

T-165 minutes... :D
Since there are supposedly 40,000 members, there should be about 30-40 members who get the first update.

Why do I get the feeling that the first 10,000 notifications are going to be sent out to rooted users?

Haha, I feel your pain. The odds are against us all to actually get the update today. I was reading how the droid reached 1 million sales faster than the iPhone, I'm not sure how many millions it has sold in total, but being in the first 10,000 would be a tough achievement I'm sure.

Is there any indication that 2.1 will include fixes for call quality, i.e. problems with muffled audio, etc.? Weeks back, there was speculation of such, but I can find nothing in the Motorola release notes.

Any guess as to what percentage 10,000 is to the total Droids in use is?

Based on these numbers, which are outdated, Less than 0.9% Probably more like 0.8%

Several people have tried to call Verizon about this problem, but it was not addressed because they could not understand what the caller was talking about.

This is actually serious. I'm kicking myself now, because I think I may have been pushed the update yesterday. I was in a meeting around 2:15 or so, when my phone vibrated. I pulled out to see what kind of a notification it was, but nothing showed up in the bar. In addition, the notification LED was blinking green. When I unlocked, there was a message displayed over the home that said "Update in progress..." I killed my phone right away, though, as I wasn't aware you could push it off to later, and I hadn't backed up my phone in a while, so I wanted to play it safe.

Whether this was it or not, I don't know. It hasn't come back since. I just figured you all might appreciate hearing the story.

Every time I call Verizon regarding this problem, they tell me I sound crystal clear. Other than Verizon, I can barely be heard.

Prolly an app update.

It wasn't 2.1, no pushes until the first 1K today at 12am EST.

That was probably just the pre 2.1 maintenance release. (JOKING):icon_ devil:
