The problem CK is when you advertise it then pull it, advertise it again, pull it again.
Nothing was advertised though. A leaked photo got out and the 2.1 PDF never had a date/announcement on it nor was there any kind of communication from VZW stating an update was coming.

Most people are not even aware of what the heck is going on : )

Now if VZW had sent out an email or text stating a update would be coming then it was being advertised. I don't recall seeing any advertising for it and if I somehow missed it I will stand corrected.

As far as the Moto thing goes that was a HUGE mistake on their part. They had no business saying anything. They can't control a roll-out (which we all saw)

Advertising, no. Making promises that it would be here today, yes.

Surely there are more that I am unaware of.

They made it clear that the plans were to have it released today. They told us it would be released today. It hasn't been released today.

The end.

Not the Razr.... My Dad still has one. The old man won't let go of it. He would rather have a new battery than a new phone. LOL.

As for me.... I am rethinking the sale of my Samsung Glyde. LOL. not really.. just trying to throw some fuel on the fire since I have not yet used my Molotov cocktail or pitch fork.

It's a mild annoyance at best.

Probably getting reports back from those first whatever 1000? or so people and having tons of issues so it gets pushed back. If I had to guess, kind of why it's done this way so they don't have a crapton of folks having issues.

People just need to settle.

First 1000 didnt go out yet either apparently.. none did..

I would not be surprised if the "first 1000" was really the release to the engineers and staff and if all is well the bulk gets pushed out later. I am not saying to get around the computer with beer and popcorn (:pint:) at 9. But the moto rep had said it was pushed.

This site says the update is on verizon's website for manual download. Has anyone tried this yet?

It says the update instructions are posted on VZW's website. And it is. The instructions say to wait for your phone to tell you to push "Upgrade Now" or something to that effect.

It is not a set of instructions on how to download and install manually. Did you read it with your eyes wide open? LOL

Gabriela A: We really appreciate your feedback. I will forward it to the proper department. The update was released today for a group of testers. As soon as the update is approved it will be distributed to end users.

Ya know, I personally wouldn't take to much credence in what the motorola people tell you in online chat. I messaged them yesterday and asked the launch was still today, the lady replied something to the effect: No specific date or time as been established yet for this upgrade to your phone, we are aware many customers are eager for this update and we will be notified when a date is determined" then I sent her the link from verizon saying it was going to be out today, and she came back with what seemed to be an 'Caught off guard response" and said, yes but we dont know what features will be included then conn was lost..

so as I said earlier they did not say which 1000 it would be, but that an update would be sent out to 1000 phones.
