Can't believe this thread is still going on.

In anticipation of the update I uninstalled HelixLauncher because I was hoping the update would have five screens and I didn't want to spend time getting this one set up to my liking for nothing.

Personally I am not reading anymore 2.1 posts, news, etc. The next thing I will read about 2.1 is update complete.

There is no need to fill these threads about the official 2.1 from Moto,Verizion with nonsense about BB 7.9 whatever, Black&white mod sholes 89.3,Droid mod c3po 7.9er 2 or any other hacked version of the 2.1 OS!

Why mods are so quick to jump on people in other threads that stray OT when there are only a few pages but refuse to police it here in the 2.1 threads when there are thousands of posts is beyond me!!

Plain and simple, stay on topic, this topic is about the 2.1 release/delay, not whether you are rooted,glad you rooted or you have been running 2.1 build for weeks!!

There are a few of us who DO NOT want to root or even CARE about rooting!!

The phone has been out only how many months??? This will be what # update?? This phone will have exactly 2 more updates when it gets 2.1 than any other phone in the past so I will wait paitently for it!

What a mess Verizon is right now, huh? I mean what the hell is really going on?? When is the Droid 2 coming out (with the better keyboard)? Watch, I bet you it will come out before I can use my "free every 2 year phone upgrade"

Verizon also cancelled their VIP program.

At any rate--

If Verizon had some decent, trustworthy employees (few companies do), the leaked info wouldn't have made it out and this conversation wouldn't be happening. So is it really as bad as we are making it?

OK, everybody stay on topic. People that are rooted, kindly do not ridicule or insist that people that are not rooted are in any way being naive, dumb or any other type of insinuations.

We've got a great group of people here. That's what makes us a step above other forums IMHO. Disagreements are OK, but let's not let things get out of hand.

Well as best as i can tell Motorola were the ones that contracted the company that pushes the update. I think that that company pushes the update, VZW just has to give the green light. ( the name of the company has been mentioned several times... i do not remember it though)

That doesn't change the fact that the OTA schedule that shows how it will be released etc was VZW internal information, and not provided by Motorola.

They clearly don't decide it, but it stands to reason they might have a little better information about it than publicly available due to their relationship with VZW.

And can we all stop with the condecension and general douchiness in this thread? Clearly everyone has their own spin on what they think happened and who they think is to blame, but that's not what the thread is really for. It would be nice if this were a place where people could find the latest info on the situation.

Regardless of who decides the OTA schedule, Matt sent out that email saying 2.1 was being released. Hence the fact we would be having this conversation whether that leaked document got out or not.
