5.5.5.893 FXZ .901/.902 compatible and.902 update

The cdt cannot be reverted. So if the OP added the 902 cdt to his fix, then someone that uses it and goes to 901, they will get the cdt error after flashing the 901 update. I don't get a cdt failure because when i flash back to 866, I do both 893 and 902 back to back in recovery and I get no error. If I was to flash back to 901, I would have to moto-fastboot the 902 cdt.bin. If I flash back to 893, I update to 902 and also don't receive the cdt failure.

Both. 902 and .901 cdt files are identical

Kinda shoots holes in the theory if I'm going from .902 and flashing this FXZ and it flashes the cdt.bin....and I am back to stock .893 'without' any errors...

?? what theory? You have been to 902 already and the cdt cannot be reverted. Ans as the OP just stated. The 901 and 902 cdt's are identical. Flash back to 866 and update to 893, I guarantee you will get the error when you try to boot.

but bypassing 886 and going directly to .893 wouldn't cause fastboot error?...know why?

lol....You said flashing the .886 FXZ from .901 only gets the cdt error 'after' you flash the .893 OTA?

If you read my post earlier, I do both 893 and 902 updates back to back and I don't receive any error. If I was to try to boot after the 893 update without flashing the 902 in the same recovery session, I would end up with the failure.

So when flashing this .893 FXZ...and 'booting' without flashing the .902 update, why is there no cdt error?

I'm downloading yours now... If you have info then I think open forum is a good place to help users understand what they're seeing....some like to see what things do... helps mis-information be correct4ed as well.

Did you delete both erase emstorage and flash emstorage commands in the XML?
after deleting both the xml command an the image file it still wiped data but when i i deleted the erase userdata command only then did the apps an personal data stay intact

my FXZ has been test for both .902 and .901 an i received no such error.

Also, perhaps deleting the flash cdt.bin command in your XML that causes the invalid CDT errors??... this .893 FXZ flashes the new cdt.bin file and there appears to be no cdt errors ...
when timmy deletes the flash cdt command the cdt from the previous version will will stay intacked an will cause cdt errors for any update that gets pushed to his phone every time u update the cdt gets modified to let the next update know what system version u are on the cdt file acts like a personal signature for the system version so if ur system version is .893 an u have a .886 cdt the .902 update will read the signature an see that the cdt is telling the update that it is on .886 when its not its actually .893 so since the update sees .886 from the cdt an not .893 the update then fails
