[ROM] [6/6/2012] CM7 for the Droid Pro based on GB

Another thing is even if I could get the bootloader again and SBF again, I would just end up in loop hell again because SBF'ing a phone doesn't delete the data portion which is stupid if you ask me. But anyways.

But if you SBF, it will allow you to get to recovery again.

Did you try hitting the search key when in recovery. For some reason I remember it doing something. You have a weird case my friend. If it was a physical issue with the vol. keys you would not be able to get into the bootloader to sbf. I would suggest that you find a way to fully charge up your battery, and try go sbf again with a fully charged battery. Trust me it makes a difference. Then after you sbf again and bootloop again, go into recover again and try the vol keys and then search key if the vol's still don't work.

Please report your findings.

True but therein also lies the current catch-22 that i'm currently in. If I SBF a second time, will the volume buttons work in the recovery THEN? With the way things have been going lately, I fear they probably won't and I'll be staring at that menu in the recovery WISHING that my volume buttons would work so I could select factory reset. LOL

Also I was just thinking normally when you SBF and then factory wipe and finally boot into your stock ROM, the USB debugging, by default, is unselected, hence disabled. If that is the case, wouldn't that also prevent me from being able to use adb to wipe my data??? :FTL:

BTW, I don't mean to threadjack Jackpot's awesome CyanogenMod thread with my troubles. Mods, if you need to boot me or if I need to start my own thread let me know. :)

Can't Install Gapps

[posted this somewhere else, but someone said I should pose my issue here.]

I have spent the better part of today trying to "correct" some of the UI changes from the new Gingerbread update. I'm currently stuck, and need some major help. Here's where I am:

I have rooted, gotten CWM running, flashed CM7. When I tried to install Gapps the first time through, CMW got hung up for quite a while, and was unresponsive, so I pulled the battery. When I reloaded the battery, I got the boot screen loop of CM7. I eventually got to some kind of recovery screen (I don't think it was CWM), and did a reset. When I turned it back on, it loaded w/CM, but without Gapps. I've since tried to load Gapps thru CWM, but it keeps freezing. I can take the battery out and it will load CM fine.

The Gapps file I am trying to load is named: gapps-gb-20110828-signed.zip

CMW says:

-- Installing: SDCARD:gapps-gb-20110828-signed.zip
Finding update package...
Installing update...

And it's stuck there...

Might have been a bad download. In the recovery before you press choose update from sdcard, select the option where you toggle signature verification

Every time I try to install the new cm7 I can't get gapps to install, it will say it did but then when I reboot its not there so I gave up

I'll re-d/l it and try. I did toggle signature verification before, and CMW wouldn't process it.

Yeah each file has its own signature and it is thrown into the build too. If the signature of the package doesn't match the signature that is inside the package it means there was an error in downloading it

Are you flashing the correct gapps? There are two, one for regular gapps and an extra zip for if you want gtalk with video. Make sure you are flashing the first one not the second

So I got it installed correctly (I think). I rebooted and was prompted to put in my google account. Then the App Market came up w/the google apps, I started to download the first one, set my phone down for a couple minutes, and then when I picked it back up, Google was prompting me for the back-up info, and I couldn't get back to the apps. So I got Gapps installed, but ended up with like one Google app. So I think I just need to reinstall Gapps, but I don't know how to do that.

Do I need to do a data reset from CWM and reinstall CM & Gapps? Just Gapps?
