[ROM] [6/6/2012] CM7 for the Droid Pro based on GB

I just flashed 1125g onto my driod.

I am a GSM user. And my data switching from 3g and wifi is working flawlessly so far.

I applied the Radio Hack from TBH before the flashing of 1125g. I suspect the raido lock is the cause of the data switching in cm7. I am not sure, maybe other GSM user may give it a try too.

Hope this help.

Once again, thank JackCalvin for joist hard work!!

Love this rom!

I can't really help, since I am not experiencing the issue. I'm actually not experiencing most of the issues that have been reported, which is a little strange.

Hi,

I installed gingerbread and updated it using Clavin's instructions. But when I am applying 1125G.zip in recovery mode its showing error
E:failed to verify whole-file signature
E:signature verification failed

Please help!

All lowercase is correct: the command cd should be lowercase and as it happens the full path is also lowercase /data/misc/wifi

Try this in the terminal (> is terminal prompt):
> su (grant superuser rights)
> cd /data/misc (goto folder /data/misc)
> ls -d (list directories of current folder i.e. /data/misc)

if you see wifi amongst the listed directories, you can continue, if not something is wrong
> cd wifi
> mv wpa_supplicant.conf wpa_supplicant.conf.bak

Problem gets more and more weird. I just did this ^^, but when I did ls -d, it only returned "."

I ran the mv command line anyway, and rebooted. It must have worked, because when I turned WiFi back on, I had to re-enter my router password. Now the phone will connect to FaceBook through the app - I can post etc, and I can search google through the browser. Anything I search (tried alpacas and zelda) and both returned x pages of results. But if I click a link, it won't go to the page. I tried clearing the browser cache/cookies/history, but that didn't work (didn't think it would, but I tried anyway).

So....WTF?

I don't the difference between STOCK RECOVERY and Clockwork as I am new to Android.
Previously I had Froyo and I followed your steps and gingerbreak upgradation was Ok.
Now when I am trying to apply .zip in r+m+power button mode its showing an error which I mentioned.

Please forgive me I will take some time to understand jargons :)

keyboard backlight problem - (simpler) fix and some thoughts

I think I have a more simple fix for the keyboard backlight issue than completely reflashing the ROM.

I too was having the keyboard backlight issue after installing the 1125G ROM from stock Gingerbread... but by the time I noticed, I had pretty much gotten my phone to where I wanted it. Total bummer. I tried the app that forces the keyboard on always, no dice... I tried the toggle with auto-backlight trick in the settings, it would bring the keyboard on, but not automatically. All I could do was trigger it for that instance. The second I turned my screen off and back on again, no keyboard backlight. I also noticed that auto-brightness was both not impacting the actual brightness, it would stay at whatever the last manual setting was, and that the keyboard was also being controlled by the same backlight setting. So for a while, it was triggering but was at such a dim level on the backlight, it did not even appear as if the keyboard was illuminated.

I didn't want to reflash... what if I bricked it again and had to cycle through all the previous stock .sbfs? So much time, so much hassle... So after exhausting all the settings on that install, I decided I was determined to get the keyboard backlight working even if it meant .sbfing the whole gambit, but wanted to experiment before I claimed defeat and reflashed 1125G. So I rebooted into recovery and did wipe data/factory reset as well as wipe cache partition... rebooted the phone and it worked!

So, I still have to reinstall everything, but Titanium will make that easy. Needless to say, one less step to fix the keyboard issue. Not entirely sure what did it, but I'd maybe suggest as a best practice for first time installs to 1125G that after the initial flash is successful, reboot into recovery and do one more wipe before setting up the phone.

Anyway Calvin, been enjoying your ROM for a while and still do. It's small but happy I was able to contribute a lil bit. If anyone else tries this and it works, please say so in order for others to enjoy. And thank you to the community of dedicated Droid Pro users, you guys rock.

Hi, I had the same problem: backlight and keyboard backlight not working, but after I reflashed the 1125g again I just reinstalled my applications with Titanium backup but I did not restore any app data + cm settings via Titanium (as per suggestion in this thread). And up until now my backlight is still working :-)

Someone suggested that I verified if my backlight was working after a fresh reinstall/reflash, and it did.

What I did:
1. wipe system, data, cache, dalvik cache;
2. reflash 1125G + google apps;
3. booted into CM7 and verified that my backlight was working;
4. rebooted once more to test my backlight --> still working;
5. signed into my accounts;
6. gradually installed applications (only app not the app data) via Titanium Backup --> to test which application would cause this

So as I said, my backlight (normal + keyboard) is still working.

After you restore everyhting (application + application data & settings) via Titanium could you post a follow-up?
Someone suggested that restoring any settings/data via Titanium via could be the culprit.

But it just could be of course that after a reflash, we just need to wipe data and perform a factory reset.

So which hack are you talking about, could you give me a link to the hack?

Furthermore if you turn on Wifi, can you still change your settings, for instance if you turn on Wifi could change your date/time settings between 12h and 24h mode?

I found out that if my Wifi works, that while Wifi was on I could change the settings, but they would not be saved. After turning off Wifi I had to turn on Data for brief moment and that fixed everything. So according to me it seems that Wifi makes some files/folders read-only and Data makes the same files/folders writeable again.

Howdy folks, long time, no talk

I've been busy with porting ICS to the Kindle Fire and finals with school but on this fine weekend I decided to work on CM9 for the Droid Pro like old times :-D

It's very buggy (a lot of force closes) but it's also pretty fast and smooth. So far, the radio works, wifi works, the camera doesn't, bluetooth should and other things work that I cannot remember anymore

The only downside is that the screen is stuck in landscape so you have to hold it sideways to do anything which makes typing very difficult as it's sideways at all times. I've attached some screenshots of what it's gonna look like :-) as you can see, it's stuck in landscape for now, but it'll be fixed shortly and there will be a super alpha in the upcoming weeks
