[7-2] Froyo Source Built Kangerade 4.0.7 - *HUGE list of features & Themes*

Okay guys someone please help me out here I've been on several different threads and have gotten no answer. I've been on v1.0 for a few weeks and had no problems but everytime I try to update (i tried to go to 1.1 and now this build) I boot up and the Android system setup force closes after it finished connecting with Google's servers and I'm stuck with the notification bar and a black screen.

no mention of a data wipe? back up all your apps using titanium (free) and wipe data and cache and do a FRESH install. thats the only thing you can do short of flashing entire system back to 2.0.1 and re rooting, etc...

You're right, wiping data is like the only thing I haven't done. Still a little fuzzy on that and I don't want to like erase my recovery backup or something.

Will do right now and see if that works. Thanks for your help I appreciate it.

wiping data should fix your issue... your writing over something that doesn't want to be compatible... wiping data only erases apps/user data thats all... your recovery will remain intact with your new ROM.

Just finished installing, so far so good Jrummy. I'll post some benchmarks later tonight. For those who are having some trouble with the market place I also was having trouble. This is what I found in my logs:

E/vending ( 1731): [24] AsynchRequestRunner$1.runRequestRetryingFailure(): Got ApiException from async request: Error from backend. Request=com.android.vending.model.GetAssetRequest, Response=INTERNAL_SERVICE_ERROR
E/vending ( 1731): [24] AsynchRequestRunner$1.runRequestRetryingFailure(): Got ApiException from async request: Error from backend. Request=com.android.vending.model.GetAssetRequest, Response=INTERNAL_SERVICE_ERROR

So for me it was the market place that was jacking up. Possibly from high request demands. We killin it!! lol

I strongly recommend everyone get familiar with aLogCat. Its a free logging app from the marketplace. It definately helps isolate your issues and helps provide some much needed info that people on here need to help you troubleshoot.

I absolutely love this version. Came from v1.1 without wiping and all is well. Just had to re enter my info in the email app. I tossed p3's 1.2ghz and got 1656 on second try, first time I got a call in the middle of the benchmark lol. The WiFi hotspot is showing up when I turned on WiFi.

Currently using nexthang but was wondering how to get the battery percentage on the battery status icon.

ok, so, so far the only beef i got is that wifi icon in the status bar... everything else is flawless! I can live with that!

pretty much the only issue i have also. its definately annoying, certainly not a deal breaker or anyting but hopefully someone will figure out a way to get rid of it

connect to your wifi, leave it ON, and reboot. notification will be gone. (until you turn wifi back OFF at least)

Is anybody else having issues with JRummy's wallpapers? Most of them apply, but not all.

I am running the blue theme, stock kernal. Wiped data/cache before install.

When I click settings - wallpaper - wallpapers (JRummy's 20 or so wallpapers) - try to select the last wallpaper (the one with the double set of stairs and all the blue swirls) the image will not pop up in the preview nor will it apply when I select Set Wallpaper. I also tried the one next to last (the one with the guy), it will preview but not apply.

No big deal, I have plenty of other wallpapers. Just wondering if anyone else has the same issue whether it be on blue or any other color.

Actually the only problem I've run into is once you play a music track on the music widget you can't pause on the widget. Also Skype still force closes but it's done that on all 2.2 roms.

I have something similar, on the 2x4 widget, once I press play, the widget becomes transparent lol. I think it does it on all the widgets that show the progress bar.

EDIT: also on nexthang, the YouTube widget is not themed and I miss the themed Pandora in system, I guess it was removed to conserve space.

I did a fresh install but the market refuses to re-download...and Titanium restores have never worked for me without causing problems.

Restoring 1.1 for now. I'll see if I can reinstall w/out wiping.
