7-7-10 [ROM] Froyo Kangerade 5.0.9 *source built, 9 themes, bug fixes, many features*

hi a little help please, i installed this going from 4.0.7 and everytime i go to my setcpu, this is what it says "NO ROOT ACCESS DETECTED. ARE APPLICATIONS ALLOWED ACCESS TO ROOT? OPERATING IN READ-ONLY MODE." i couldnt get a screenshot cause my drocap doesnt work too.. uhm anyone please? i tried reinstalling the Rom and setcpu, but none of them work... ill be waiting for any help.. i would appreciate it. thank you

You guys can just rename /data/local/bootanimation.zip to bootanimation.old, then move the one from your SD Card to /data/local/ with your favorite file manager. I used Root Explorer, but I believe that Astro can do it too.

I know you're trying to let JRummy know that the script isn't working, but there are workarounds. Think outside the ROM. :)

Thanks for the help, wasn't really aware of how to do this previously. Now I know.

I tried the normal bootanimation.zip and it didn't work, then I extracted and tried the bootanimation.zip that was extracted to /bootanimation/system/media/ and put it where you said in /data/local/

Tried that and it doesn't work for some reason... I usually do my boot ani. this way and tried 2x but no go both times

@hailtothetheif: Maybe it has less to do with the ROM scripts, and more to do with the workmanship of that bootanimation.zip? I took a known working one from my SD card to do the copy to /data/local, but as chabuku described- the one that s/he extracted was most likely to be applied as an update.zip file from recovery (i.e. to be written to the filesystem for you) as opposed to you dropping it where you want it to go. Bootanimation.zip files (that are ready to go into /data/local will contain a desc.txt file, and sequential folders of .PNG files labeled as PartX where X = 0 - whatever.

It sounds to me like chabuku's file was a .zip within a .zip meant for recovery installation. Idk.

1. It seems like some folks have had issues with not wiping data and cache- Did you wipe data and cache?

2. Do you see a 'Superuser Permissions' app in your app drawer? If so, open it and see the status on SetCPU. It should have a green dot if it is allowed root permission, and a red one if not. Tap it to change it to green.

So, wiping data/cache is always on the table, but possibly/probably isn't causing your issue. I'd remove SetCPU from the Superuser Permissions app (long-press, then forget) and then remove SetCPU from the phone. Next I'd reboot, then reinstall SetCPU. Run it, and it should request root.

I had a similar issue where ROM Manager wasn't correctly flashing recovery, but continued to tell me that it was successfully flashing recovery. That's the process I underwent to sort-of refresh everything. Trust me, I tried everything else and finally a full removal/reinstall of the app (with a reboot) solved it.

its blue.... oh good idea, let me try out other themes,, but the one that im having problems with is the blue one...

This is incredibly fast. Which kernels are safe to run with this ROM? I'd love to run Chevy's ULV1200 kernel, but I don't know if it'll play nice with this ROM.

has anyone else had a problem with scrolling, when im scrolling and stop the screen shakes up and down, side to side in landscape

I get that too, also any script for launcher? like the new 3d launcher 2 but im still stuck on the original app drawer that scrolls.

BTW Jrummy, been running your rom since i rooted from day 1, havent found any other that i like as much as yours! MAD PROPS!! dancedroid

I'm running the Blue one as well, and SetCPU has worked with the original kernel, and the one that I replaced it with, no issues. Hmm.

If I'm correct he duplicated the exact look of nextheme by manup, in which case the locks are black.
