[ROM] [Alpha] Ics4Bionic 01-25-2012

I seriously doubt that the kernel has changed so much that it would be incompatible with other versions of stock and for sure this rom. Also since this is in SafeStrap there is no way to "bork" your phone as they said....permantently anyway.

Alpha10 is live read the changelog and wipe it ALL this time.

Blargh. Wiped everything, installed Alpha10, changed data from CDMA\LTE to CDMA and still no 3g. Do I need to enter an antenna code or... something? Or am I just unlucky :p

The word is that if eHRPD is down in your area from the outage, you will get EV-DO 3G on this ICS rom. If eHRPD service is restored in your area, your phone will be unable to connect to EV-DO, and you will not be able to get 3G service.

And that explains it! Thanks.

i am not sure on this but being that the guys that do xoom zone have gotten 3g/4g working on normal roms (even though they are for the xoom) there maybe something they might be able to assist you in a fix although i am not sure on your relationship with them and i also know they are working on ICS for the xoom as well and seem to be having issues with that kernel and 3g/4g too. I was just thinking if everyone were to put their heads together it might benefit everyone.

I am just saying this as both are on verizon and both may have similar things involved. In fact any of the 3g/4g kernels for any verizon devices may have similar code on some parts as far as the 3g/4g operations are concerned.

Any tricks to getting data to enable? I'm on Alpha 10 and can't get data. I couldn't on Alpha 9 either.

I tried toggling CDMA only and pulling the SIM card.

All the tricks we know of have already been posted. You just have to play with it a bit.

Thanks! I got it working by toggling GSM.

Has anyone tried using a bluetooth headset? Mine connected just fine, but the audio coming through the bluetooth earpiece was terrible crackles and static. After switching back to unsafe, the bluetooth is fine...

Also, is anyone else having problems with Google Voice Search? I can't get it to run.

I've been getting flawless 3g since alpha 10 with gsm only. I'm thinking it can't be due to the 4g outage because we've had 4g back in my city since yesterday morning. 4g is still a no go though.

It is a remnant if the outrage mine is long gone

So no more 3G anymore.? I finally flashed this a couple hours ago and I'm LOVING it so far. Not that speedy yet but hey, it's still in Alpha. I can't wait for 3G/4G & Camera+Face Unlock :D Any timeline on those few things dhacker.? Great work on the ROM, thank you for all your hard work.!! :D

Hi. I just got my hands on a Bionic. I rooted it, bootstapped it, flashed clockwork recovery via rom manager, and am now running a custom rom (liberty3v2.0). My question is how do I install this rom? I know it requires safestrap, but I read that I can't install safestrap with bootstrap still on. Thanks.

No, what you want to do is uninstall bootstrap, then install safestrap. but don't delete rom manager because you can still use it later. Here are the steps:

1. Download Alpha 10 zip, place on your SD card internal or external.
2. uninstall bootstrapper and install safestrap .apk
3. open safestrap apk and install recovery
4. reboot phone and press menu when prompted for safestrap recovery.
5. select Safe boot Menu and select toggle safe system and select yes.
This will back up your current system/rom and put you into safe mode. Meaning you can flash ICS and revert back to Liberty when your done without having to wipe and reinstall.
6. After enabling safe system, wipe data/cache
7. Advanced-->Wipe dalvick cache
8. Mounts and storage-->format/system
9. After this you can install the zip from your SD card. After installing, reboot system.

When your done playing around in the rom, reboot into safestrap and disable safe system.

10. Safeboot menu-->toggle safe system. Once that's done, you can reboot your system and you'll be back in Liberty.

Hopefully that makes sense.
