Android 2.1 Update Rolls Out For Motorola Droid!

I'm in Arizona. Got the phone the day that it was released and got my update probably 5 or 6 hours ago. I just asked 2 of my friends if they got anything for their phones and they said no.

Also. . I haven't read the hundreds of pages in here, but does anybody know why the Firmware version says 2.1-update1 (mainly the update 1 part) Is that just showing how they are putting the update out in different waves or just multiple updates to 2.1 to come?

If it was talked about previously in this thread, just tell me and I'll go back and look for it. I just wanted to post quickly for everybody about getting an update and 2 others I know not getting it yet and they live near me.

Recieved update now phone just keeps goinf from white droid to red eye screen. None of the buttons work acts like its messed up any ideas?

2.1 came to me last night and said INSTALL ME or DIE.

Today April the 2 while I was at work I notice my Droid was telling me of a system update. Phone was bought over 30days but less then 45days, I would have to get my invoice to recall better. State in case a few are wondering NC.

So I wonder if anything really has changed if so cool if not oh well, not rooted and fine with my Droid way it is.

Gallery is 3d so to say... as you move your finger across the screen they turn left tot right, Kind of cool. You do have pinch to zoom. From Gallery you can go to your camera I like that.

Web browser has pinch to zoom..... YEAH....

Wall paper has Live wallpapers ... Yeah Well I kind of like live wallpapers..and I was thinking I would careless.

I did not see any place for more then 3 home screens so for now I'm staying with HelixLauncher which is a nice app to have.

If I repeated any thing any one else has said sorry.... I'm at work and had no time to read all the post.

got update last night

I just got my phone on 3/17 and when I looked at it at work this morning I was being prompted to run the update. I did, took less than 5 minutes, and things seem to be working. I live in VT, so didn't expect to be a priority. Seems to be no rhyme or reason

I got the OTA update sometime last night . No problems so far. Love it !

Turned on the Droid this a.m. and downloading is underway. Plugged into the laptop and taking less than 5 minutes.:reddroid:

Haven't been active on these forums for a while. Got my Droid back in November. DID NOT ROOT. Got my update this morning @ 6:45 a.m. All advertised features seem to be working. Speech recognition does a fair job in the stock SMS program, pinch & zoom works in gallery, browser. I just wish they'd thrown in additional home screens. Oh well... guess I won't delete Open Home yet.

Oh yeah, I'm in Tampa, FL. And I am a VZ employee. No, we didn't get first dibs. lol

i got my update at 1 am and i hit install and it did it quickly and all, but now my phone wont start. it keeps cycling from the droid to the eye thing back to the droid. any ideas its really pissing me off. ive pulled the battery and all.

Got the update last night, I havn't had any time to mess with it yet.

Just a quick question and sorry if its already been asked (lots of pages to read through, obviously little time). If I have the Helix launcher installed and in use with 5 screens, can I just switch back to Stock launcher without any issues? I'd like to see the live wallpapers and what not. I wish they had 5 screens with the new update though.
