Android 2.1 Update Rolls Out For Motorola Droid!

I still don't get why they put Goggles on here. I already downloaded it from the Market months ago and uninstalled it because it was dumb. Would have been better had they put Earth in its place, or better yet! Give us permissions to stock applications so we can remove them!

From what I have read it seems that the update is coming out at various times throughout the morning and not just at midnight. Can anyone realistically hope that they might receive it during the day?

Just got my OTA update at 6:30 this morning and I also cannot find google earth in the market. I have searched for it in multiple ways. Anybody know why GOOGLE EARTH is not available.

Since this is my first update, which I received last night and I'm new to the live wallpaper stuff I was woundering why it only works in the native home and not in Panda Home ????

Alot of people are having this problem right now, I'm sure it will come back. I'm glad I got it when it was still available.

Yeah, I get the same thing. Not sure if it's released throughout the day, or just in the morning. I don't think I have read of anyone getting it in the afternoon. So far, I have not gotten it, but I figure it is coming soon.

I am looking forward to the Voice to Text , and downloading Google Earth. I'll have to check and see if my sister and her husband got their updates... they got Droids about 2 weeks ago...

There is a thread on this as well. Apparently a lot of people are having problems finding Google Earth, and the Google Website isn't any help, showing downloads for iPhone with a notation saying "Droid support coming soon". Not sure what is going on.

I'm growing impatient of waiting for it over-the-air so I was wondering if manually updating it is exactly the same as over-the-air updating. And when should I expect the update?

Has anyone seen any issues with the forced update vs. the OTA update? Both my wife and I have a Droid. I forced mine but not hers, as she wants to wait for the OTA update. I keep telling her its no different, but I want to know if any of you guys have actually seen a difference at all.

I dont think so, mine was the OTA update this morning and it says

1. Yes, if you manually update it's the same as waiting for the OTA update.

2. You can expect the update whenever it's sent to you. There is no set list of who gets what when. People who just got their Droids a few weeks ago have gotten the update, but people who got them in November haven't yet.

Not sure if this has already been mentioned, in the new gallery I am noticing that when I select multiple files only the first file I select will have the check box marked off. It still tells me how many files I selected though. Just a minor annoyance, just wanted to see if its jyst me or its affecting everyone
