Android 2.1 Update Rolls Out For Motorola Droid!

Do you know if you can still tether. I have read that if you update you can no longer tether to the root. Do you know if there is a "fix" for this

So maybe im late but whatever happen to flash 10? I remember a demo awhile back of of a dude running it on youtube but was that whole thing cancelled completely? Personally if I could, I would trade the option of animated wallpapers for flash 10 but I guess that ability on most mobile devices is still being testd or whatever.

Got it this morning when I woke up. Like it a lot. Especially the new Gallery. I uninstalled B&B Gallery because I LOVED the native 2.1 gallery so much. The live wallpaper is pretty cool. The browers' pinch and zoom is more stable and smooth, but I don't think the native one is any better than Dolphin Browser so I haven't uninstalled that. Haven't tried Goggles yet because I haven't even left the house, but gonna try this weekend.
News and weather look good, but already have WeatherBug that is in my notification bar... so don't know why I would use it for weather...probably for news though.
What else? Haven't played around with it that much more. Glad it's here.
Now waiting for Flash which is a BIG BIG BIG reason I got the phone in the first place.
Ah...who am I kidding...I would have gotten it anyway.

Flash for Android is still in development and tentatively scheduled for release later this year, from Adobe (not from VZW/Google/Motorola).

Adobe's last projection for flash for the Droid was "first half of 2010". No mention of a window beyond that and no update on that since december.

I searched for Google Earth in the app store and still can't find it, all I see is "Google Earth Blog" by MotherApp

For people finding themselves unimpressed with the update, I think in time you will change your minds as I did. I thought at first it wasn't anything special but since the update I have been messing with my phone and they fixed a lot of small quirks you don't really think about until messing with your phone. Call quality is much better, talk to text is insanely awesome. Somehow they improved battery life with an OTA update which is pretty impressive. The screen seems to be a bit more crisp. While the update was not earth shattering they definitely nailed down some things with it. I have completely changed my stance on thinking it wasn't worth the wait. I really look forward to what the future updates will be like.

Liking the new 2.1 update. Anyone else noticing their droid running slower now. I gain some speed back when I am not using a live wallpaper.

Did u recieve the update checking for updates or did u do the procedure posted? I did the method posted to get it early and i think ive noticed maybe a slight slowdown browsing the web but im not sure since its still pretty managable. I think the live wallpapers are cool n all but they GOTTA be draining at least a bit more battery than norm. Personally, i rather drain mine on flash 10 but sadly thats nowhere to be found right now. :/

Lol sry i didnt realize the answere was right above me. >_< *facepalm* was viewing the thread on my phone and im usually less willing to scroll around. I think i am noticing a slight slowdown on the phone after the force update.

Besides...HTML5 is already being coded into websites.. So who knows when its going to be 100% but at least when we all get 2.1. We have the necessary foundation to have Flash..But by the time we get that...HTML5 might be on most sites. (hopefully)
And on top of that, FLASH burns mad memory.

I dont get why there sowing up if its part of the new OS...ALSO im not relly liking the neural adroid live wallpaer its to plain in color...is there a way to get he nexus one that has like four colors insttead of read and black

There's one in the market called NexusMod Live Wallpaper, you might like that better. They didn't include that one because that was part of the N1's color scheme whereas the Droid's is grey/black/red.
