Android 2.1 Update Rolls Out For Motorola Droid!

Sluggish

I did the manual update and it is more sluggish. If there is a way to fix it maybe there should be another forum post. Kinda disappointed.

Ugh... had to Factory Reset my phone to fix the problem, but it worked. At least I got rid of a few unnecessary things. I am also noticing that the 2.1 updated items are now running more fluidly than before. Only thing I am noticing is that the scrolling is a bit sluggish, but its barely noticeable at all. Just looks like it slowly gets up to speed, so it almost looks like it is on purpose.

If you are about to upgrade, or haven't done so, yet, I'd suggest doing it manually. I did mine manually and my friend updated hers via OTA, and its the same thing. No sense in waiting if you don't have to. However, if you want to maximize performance, it might be best to do a reset before upgrading, because some of the old might have issues with the new put on top of it.

Good call Beardface. I might even do a factory reset for fun. The phone runs sweet though.

On another note I am thinking about upgrading my micro SD card to a class 10 micro, stock is class 2 micro. Higher the class quicker the read speeds. It'd help the gallery load times for sure since all my pics / vids are on there.

All right, I'm neurotic......I did the manual update and have Helix all setup with 7 home screens (slightly buggy but nothing to cry about). Everything is organized. I must like to torture myself because I'm doing a factory reset and waiting for my OTA (if I didn't miss it) just to see if there's a difference. Curiosity man, what can I say?

As far as i know u cant reset the Firmware. It will just reset your data and apps and such.
