Android 2.1 Update Rolls Out For Motorola Droid!

Mine is stuck booting

Let roll through the DROID/red-eye cycle for about 20 mins, did a battery pull and its been doing it again for about 5 mins now.

Thoughts?

My wife got the update this morning. When tapping the Gallery icon on the home screen a message pops up saying "this application is not installed on this phone". Anyone know how to get the application (or the new version) back?

My phone did the same thing, remove the old gallery icon off your screen, go to the ap drawer (i think this is what it is called) and move the gallery icon back onto your home screen, it will then work.

Just did the manual update this morning; I can't say I'm all that impressed, unfortunately. Live wallpapers are cool, but it seems a hair slower, no 3D, just the same tab to pull apps up, still just three screens. Essentially everything I thought was cool about 2.1 when I first saw videos and information on it aren't included. Looks like I'll bite the bullet and just root it eventually and get a custom one.

The new gallery is pretty slick as well. Still though, this is more akin to 2.0.2.

Just got the update and installed it on my GFs phone. Wow, I am totally unimpressed.
She could not see anything that was remotely different. No 5 screens, no 3D UI.

I'll stick with bugless beast for now on my phone.

I received my notification of 2.1 (actually 2.1 mod. 1). . .

Yours actually says "mod 1"? Mine says "2.1-update1". Is there a diff?

My mistake, mine says 2.1 update 1.

Just press on any open spot on your screen and choose Wallpapers > Live wallpapers. Or go to Menu > Wallpapers.

Wow. What an ordeal.

After still not having my update this morning, I caved in and installed the manual update this morning. Much to my dismay, that stuck my phone in a never-ending bootloop (believe me, I let it sit 20 mins, twice).

So I reluctantly did a factory reset. I then had to go online and reactivate my phone

Then, to my surprise once my phone had been activated and I got through the Android setup wizard, I realized that I am now running 2.1

I got the OTA update and had my galley say not installed but I fixed that. I can't find my live wallpapers, where should I look. I found google goggles, google news. I also can't fin google earth. Any help???
