Android 2.1 Update Rolls Out For Motorola Droid!

Got my update this morning. South central Kansas. Almost three weeks since I got my Droid.

Yes!!! Finally, I have been blessed by the Android gods and received 2.1 this morning!!! Perhaps my sacrificial offering of texts and apps in their name has allowed me to receive their favor! I'm thrilled with the new voice-to-text feature... I see myself using that often! But, I screwed up my wallpapers. I'd like to get back to stock, but I can't find it... also, can any new live wallpapers be downloaded somewhere?

The Market.....but most of them Lock up and/or Force Close. They are not properly set up to work with the Droid.

Discard the old gallery, the one with the green android logo. Look In your app folder for gallery with the old logo and do a long press to replace the shortcut. New updated gallery is a litte smoother with the layout.

As I read this, I see the old icon on the apps list. I like Pic Say though.. should've downloaded it earlier.. Thanks

Have not received my OTA as yet and I am going to try the manual update later today.

Will I still at some point receive the OTA after I manually update and if so is there a way to cancel it or do you redown it?

the manual update is the OTA update, you are just doing it yourself. So you will not receive the OTA update.

all i really wanted was 4+ home screens! i was running pandahome (don't update while thats running, causes a small headache to get the phone to stop restarting the home screen).
am i missing something with the number of screens or did they really just drop the ball on this one??
otherwise i'm happy with the speed & new faces of the existing apps.

the manual update is the OTA update, you are just doing it yourself. So you will not receive the OTA update.

Man, what i really want to see is working flash website headers.
I design sites and i make flash headers and my Droid still does not display them. Does anyone have any news on this happening.... soon??

The 4 homescreens and the 3D app drawer were a myth. Never once did Verizon say anything about them. People started saying they would be involved in the update and the rumors started spreading like wildfire. A bit disappointing yes, but I recommend giving Helix Launcher a try, works very well with the 2.1 update. Don't DL helix launcher2 though, will constant loop force close on you.

Love the update so far...noticed a slight battery life increase. I'm 0-4 on google goggles.
