Android 2.1 Update Rolls Out For Motorola Droid!

Just got my notice for the 2.1 upgrade... in progress now. Wanted to stop in and say THANKS to all of you who have offered good information on what 2.1 is (and isn't) for our phones.

Ok not trying to cause a riot, but has there been any word on the next update? Im not rushing it or anything, i just know most tech companies think ahead and usually have a team working on the next thing.

Just some quick feedback on the voice inputs feature in 2.1: it edits the swear words to ####. Funny!

i know this may seem dumb but i just got my droid about a 2 weeks ago and i now i hear there is an update... how do i check wat version i am running, do you get charged for the update, and finnaly i dont think my droid has updated to the new version should it have already do i have to turn something of or somthing to get it plz help

Go to Menu > Settings > scroll down to About phone and VOILA! the answer will be under Firmware version.

Man, I'm glad i read this thread. Now I know what that update was. I really like the way the new gallery works. It automagically pulled in my picassa pics. You can use your finger to go through them. Anyway, thanks droidforum.

Well today, I loaded Helix Launcher and set it up with 7 home screens. (Yes, just get it! You'll love it).

Just reporting Helix is every bit as fast with 7 screens as the Android default launcher, but the live wallpapers affect it about the same.

Okay, this is probably a dumb question, but I just installed Helix Launcher but I only see 3 screens. I can't find the setting to get it to 7 screens. How do I do this? Thanks!
