have you tried using folders? did you know if you long press on the home button your last 6 apps come up? have you tried a home replacement with more screens? maybe i don't understand what you're talking about :shocked:

Download the Helix app. Up to 7 screens and the ability to "dock" four apps at the bottom of the screen which will show up on all screens

Thanks LifeIsABeach I downloaded helix. I have noticed some issues with it. Some lockups forcing me to restart but it suits the need. So far it is running better than some of the others out there. Most are twichy at best and exhibit questionable stability issues to say the least. I'm still hoping that they'll wise up and do what they should have in the first place and included the ability to do this in their firmware soon. Just seems dumb that phones like the Eris have so many screens avaliable, but a powerhouse like the Droid dosen't! Helix and some others have nice features and Moto should wake up and take notice! If they start doing their homework and listen to their consumers, then they may do more than just give Apple a run for its money. I'm not against Apple at all and infact I like the iphone, but I truly believe that stiff hard fought competition can only benifit us the consumer no matter which camp you reside if they wake and take notice to what the consumers want!

So somewhere in this 290+ thread I am sure this has been covered, but...
My phone under Settings>About Phone>Firmware shows Firmware Version 2.1-update1
Is this the full 2.1 update? I don't have live wallpapers or any of the other things I have seen on YouTube vids of droids claiming to run 2.1 and mine screens look nothing like those in the vids.
The only thing I have noticed is a new gallery and slower browsing.
Did I only I only get a partial update?

Photo & Video Gallery keeps making me force close
Still loving all the new 2.1 upgrade features with the exception of my photo gallery and videos constantly shutting down. I scanned through the postings, but haven't seen anything saying if this is getting fixed or has been fixed. It's embarassing showing of my Droid to iPhone users and have the gallery keep shutting down when I'm trying to show a video. :angry:

Well, the reason you don't see anything on this is most people aren't experiencing this. I suggest you probably have an app that may be causing an issue. Get rid of any task killers you might have or virus protection, see if that doesn't help. If all else fails, try a soft factory data reset out of your privacy settings.

Hit the shortcut menu soft key and select wallpapers. You should see the option that says live wall papers. If that firmware version name is correct up above, then you have everything and just have to find it.

im sure you have live wall papers touch the screen and hold it until it gives you an option to add wallpapers other than that as far as i know that is the full update and live wallpapers slow your phone down anyways but look awesome i say roooooot your phone

your phone aint rooted so the screens your seeing on youtube those are all custom roms none of those vids show a stock 2.1 update they are all rooted to have 5 or 7 home screens as well as the app launcher

I have been avoiding the OTA 2.1 update for a month now. Yesterday I accidentally hit "Install Now" instead of "Install Later" and my Droid went to 2.1. BUT - I still seem to have root! The Hebrew fonts I installed (prior to this) are still there and functioning. AND - the "Superuser Permissions" icon is still there. I am sure that the OTA applied as I now have the updated Gallery and pinch-to-zoom and the Firmware version says "2.1-update1".
But how do I still have Root?
