Android 2.1 Update Rolls Out For Motorola Droid!

has anyone had battery problems with 2.1. my MP3 amazon store keeps running by itself. i want to take if off but can't. Its oringinal app

I have been seeing a lot of youtube videos in regards to entering codes to your droid and getting apps such as changing traffic lights and money counter. Does it really work and how can we go to that screen to enter the codes?

Here's one of the videos:

YouTube - SECRET MOTOROLA DROID UNLOCK CODE - TRAFFIC LIGHT CHANGER

Yes it works and is really fun and useful. I especially find the tazer app awesome and think it's funny when I tazer people as I am walking by and they don't even know where it came from.

The program only shows up in the market if you are double rooted. Normal root will not work.

. . . if you choose to update you must unroot or you'll either brick your phone or it will mess something up internally. . .

Are you sure about this?
I want to understand - if I am rooted and accept the VZW 2.1 OTA update then my phone becomes a brick? Are you sure? Can anyone else confirm?
not true...you will be fine if you accept the update. It wont break root or do anything to the device.

That app running is not causing you any battery problems unless it's showing up on your battery usage and I doubt it is. I could be wrong let me know.

Anyway, they slowed 2.1 down purposely so it would conserve battery life. But it's my experience with smart phones and forums in general that you will always find someone saying that battery life is worst and others saying it's much better after an update. It's the nature of the beast.

true but i had 2.1 for like 2 weeks or more and never notice this app in the advanced task manager until this week when my phone died mid day for no reason. i have not even used it as much as earlier days. i have not changed a thing

display=34%
cell standby=32%
phone idle=19%
bluetooth=6%
android system=5%
android OS=2%
handcent SMS=2%
and my battery is fine thus far. you mp3 store app running.

I never rooted my Droid due to the fact that it isnt simply a toy or convenience but my business life line, so stability and needing it to work with no issues has always been my priority.
I am really starting to rethink this though since the 2.1 update, before the update I NEVER had to restart my phone, no battery pulls, nothing, it just worked and worked well. Since then I now have ringtones for contacts just out of the blue stop working, get all sorts of force closes and slowdowns............pfff, took almost 3 minutes the other day for it to load up google maps destination. My 3G seems to disappear at will....etc etc etc.

Very unhappy now with the phone I have loved since day 1. :mad:

You running live wallpapers? The reason I ask is because I was having some issues and took off my live wallpapers and it helped out a lot.

Well I'm rooted but my notification light stopped flashing on new messages, my phone won't go in sleep state anymore, and people won't hear me as clearly all of a sudden. I rooted to 2.1 from 2.01.

I was, then disabled it for awhile, then the lure of the fluff dragged me back into them, lol. I am going to try disabling them for awhile to see if it changes.
