on the bright side of things, at least i won't have to wait for digitalblasphemy to release all new resolutions for my wallpaper collection on the droid, cause it ain't changing !! ... <sob>

Really, I thought Google Goggles was completely worthless, why would they make this a default app. If you ask me, they should do the reverse; instead of adding more default apps, they should give stock users the power to delete any application that the OS itself doesn't rely on.

It is completely worthless. But since:

(a) Google probably wanted some application to make it into the press release
(b) Apparently the list of any benefits from this 'update' has been shrinking
(c) Motorola can't get out a stock system as good as a 17 year old on a couch

apparently it is now "preinstalled." I hope that someone who has the new update can confirm that we can remove this worthless application that won't work properly for a few months, probably years. Nor does it really make any difference.

A couple of questions - if the update.zip is finally posted tonight (maybe by me if I'm lucky enough), would someone then just put the file on the sd card and the phone would see it and update?
Also, any clue if Helixlaucher2 will work with stock 2.1 and will it give the 3D app drawer?

I just read through all 53 pages of this thread. Garcia's, have you tried either recovering the archive or looking through the log?

Do you know where these are? I'd be happy to look.

You could try a recovery tool like Recuva - Undelete, Unerase, File and Disk Recovery - Free Download to look for the update.zip

Probably won't work though.

Tried it, didn't find it.

My Droid, which I've never even SEEN is sitting in TX, waiting for it's update, and I won't get to play with it until the end of June. So I have to live vicariously through you guys. I do think it's odd that Android has such tight GV integration but doesn't come with an invite.
