So far, none of the previous rooting methods will work. The recovery image says screw you, buddy and aborts.

Need someone that knows how to hex edit the su binary in like with the original root, since the 2.0.1 recovery has the same exploit, you can use a hex edited update.zip like we did for 2.0.1 that has both the update and su, so you get 2.1, and root, then just got to reflash sprecovery and rename the recovery-from-boot.p file again and good to go.

The hole in 2.0.1 and 2.0 has been closed in 2.1.

Yeah, adb is closed too :( lol

Here are clear pictures for the doubters.

thats because the 2.1 recover fixes the exploit but if you remain on 2.0.1 and wait for the modified 2.1 update zip with the hex edited su binaries then you will end up with 2.1 rooted droid.......get what i mean

No, the signature is not being verified. That has nothing to do with the root exploit.

Nonetheless, I'm trying to help. I'm proactive, not passive. As soon as I am done here I am going back to Cyanogenmod. So I am seeing what has changed and reporting it.
