Android 2.1 Update Rolls Out For Motorola Droid!

adrynalyne, your comment about how the phone should have been wiped due to 2.0.1 installed apps not playing well with 2.1 caught my attention. Should one do a factory wipe? Would you do it after you get the update, then?

Admit what was wrong?

Just that after multiple people received the update and started posting pics, you continued to argue with me yesterday that the whole thing could be a hoax. I then explained how it was from multiple people all across the nation and how that would be pretty elaborate and feasibly impossible...in which you replied with the hilarious crop circles comment.

it's all good man, you just gotta learn to man up when you're wrong.

But I wasn't wrong.

Look through the threads. I never said it was fake. Find a post where I said that. I said its easy to fake. I didn't say it was fake.

I stated that it was not enough proof for me, and I would need the real deal to buy it. I have the real deal, so that was proof for me.

I am not 'manning' up to some fantasy of yours. Sorry to disappoint.

Reading comprehension still evades you.

I would, but don't take it as gospel. Its your call :)

I'm seriously considering it. I've had some weird issues with my Droid lately and would like a fresh start. I'm the kind of person that's always reformatting their computer, though. I searched the forums and didn't really find detailed information about what data disappears and what data I should back up. I guess it will be a crapshoot. I just hope that Swype works after the reset and that my game stats aren't all wiped out. Thanks!

As long as you have been backing up your data to google's servers (under privacy settings, it will restore a lot once you factory reset. But you will have to re-setup your google account info, etc, and reinstall apps that the backup doesn't catch. Your paid apps will be linked under downloads in the market.

Cool, thanks.

Just updated mine. Worked like a charm. Just stock for me, so new features are a plus. Doesn't seem any snappier but at least it's no worse on that side of things.

Yay!

Apps on the SD?

I apologize if this info is buried in the thread, but I couldn't find it--does anyone that's actually updated know whether the talked-about change permitting apps to be saved to the SD card was implemented? Or do I need to wait to hear about rooting 2.1?
