Another Bionic that can't get a data connection... no 4G/3G/1X signal.. only wifi...

hmmmm. I don't have any Data with my bionic at the moment. No 4G, No 3G,... nothing. This is my first time experiencing this. I have had this phone for 2 weeks. And ofcourse it comes at a time when I want to stream my teams football game , while at work, during Christmas Eve!!!.

I will give this issue a little time. But if this keeps up, Best Buy might be seeing me with the $150 Difference for the Nexus very soon.

Any Ideas of how to get my Data back up and running? Or is this a verizon issue, etc...?

Try power button, airplane mode on and then back off. If that doesn't work then just reboot the phone.

I got frustrated with the lack of Data. So, Yesterday, when I got home from work, I googled "how to get your bionic back to stock". The method I found worked like a charm. Took the Bionic back to best buy and exchanged it for the Galaxy Nexus. Paid the difference.

I felt like the Bionic was a great phone. But in the end decided to go for the Nexus. ..... The funny thing is, when I got the phone back to stock, my 4G was working great. LOL. I think it was more of an issue with the ROM or tweaks. But the decision was made.

THanks for the help though guys. :)

I think you did the wright thing the Bionic never was and never will be the phone they said it was going to be. Showing my years it was kinda like the Edsel car. It just wasnt good enough to make it and too much competion. Even if they get the Bionic working its an old phone. You can thank Moto and or Verizon for that the Razr came out way to soon. The Bionic would have had to be a super phone to win and as we know it is.mot. So it just got pushed aside likr the Edsel.

Ok, I cant seem to get 3G right now. Was syncing to the data network just fine while I was out and about today. I got home and my phone switched over to my WiFi home network. Like its supposed to... however I was curious to see if there were some apps or updates that wouldnt come over WiFi. So I turned off my wifi with my desktop widget. After about 5 min of waiting I still had no 3G. So I "Airplane Mode" reset to force network resync and obtain data...except it didnt work. Tried it again, made sure my network setting were showing data enabled over network. Then I turned OFF my device, rebooted after about 2 min. Still nothing. So I switched on WiFi and jumped here to post. ANY IDEAS?

The only other trick left in the bag is the old battery pull.

Ok, I did the airpane mode push once more before resorting to the pull. Worked. BTW, is it true Big Red isnt going to push 901 anymore? I HEARD its a manual update now.

Im sure they will push it one way or the other. If they dont push it to direct you can go to settings/ about phone/ sysyem updates. and do it from there mannually. I always do it that way. that way you dont have to wait for them to push it to you.

I did the system update, however it tells me that my system is up to date. They must not be allowing 901 manual updates through the network. I know there is a way to get it, but Im nervous about doing it. As I am about rooting my bionic. The wireless tether app isnt working for the bionic anyway from what I am to understand. Thats the only reason I would risk rooting such a new device. I keep my UD Rooted Droid charged and use it for WiFi when I need it. But Im sad I can no longer tether my xoom to the network.

They havent started pushing the 901 OTA yet so either wait for it or download the unoffical leaked zip I would wait

This started for me yesterday. I have had no data connection except Wi-Fi for the last 24 hours or so.

I tried Airplane Mode on/off trick, Battery pull, left the phone off for several minutes. No luck with anything.

Make sure your tower is up and running if your in 3G make sure your in CDMA only. Call Verizon they wiull make you do a factory reset then send you a new phone

Turn off your device, pull out the battery and your sim card(not the sd card),then put back your battery(w/o the Sim card) turn it on,once booted, turn it off again and pull the battery out put in the Sim card ,put the battery in.Then power on..see what gonna happen....(w/ no harm on your device)!:)
This method is to re-register your SIM card to VW.
