ASURION SUX! NO LONGER CARRIES Moto DROID!

I emailed Asurion over the weekend to ask them what they were replacing the Droid with now that they are out of stock. I explained to them that I don't need a replacement but wanted to find out what my options would be so I would know whether it is worth it for me to keep my insurance. This is the response I got back:

"Thank you for your email inquiry. I apologize for the
delay. Yes, you are correct. The Motorola Droids are currently out of
stock. We are offering the Motorola Devour, or the LG Ally, or the HTC
Eris as comp models. If you have to file a claim, and the Motorola
Droid is not available, we can offer those comp models listed above, or
we may be able to offer another option. If you have any further
questions, please do not hesitate to contact us"

I emailed them back and explained how unacceptable this was. I haven't gotten a response back yet, but when I do I will keep you posted.


What part is unacceptable, the said right in the email that if those werent good enough to call them... Get the INC

The unacceptable part is that they are trying to pass off crap phones as replavements. Many people will not realize they are getting a worse phone until they receive and start to use one of the three they are offering. Why should I have to call and complain to get the service I pay for?

Also the email says they may be able to offer another option, not that they will have another option. Really I just hope I never have to use them because I don't think I want an incredible or X over my Droid.

Got my replacement DI monday, brandnew in box everything sealed. Was a nice treat. The only, and I mean only downdide I have found so far is that there is no BB for the DI.

Simple updated to the leaked OTA 2.2 today and have higher scores than I did on my droid.


How long did you have to wait ? Im at3 weeks, should I call and find out or should I let it be and wait more? They promised me a DI
 
Just got my replacement Incredible. It was brand new in a box.
Question - does the insurance transfer to the new phone automatically?
it should but i remember once verizon told me they couldnt transfer my insurance to a replacement from ASURION so idk

haha how can the insurance not be transferred a replacement from the insurance company itself. your insurance applies to the active phone on your account.
thats what i argued....but see i had two lines..i canceled one and it was the insurance replacement phone...i tried activating it again and they did but they said they couldnt add insurance to it again unless it was a phone purchased from verizon
 
I drowned my Droid in Vegas over the weekend. When I got on the phone with Asurion, they told me that they had no more Droids, and that the comparable models they could ship to me were the Ally, the Devour, and the Eris. Naturally, I was pissed, especially after reading reviews of the three and learning that, in comparison, they were inferior. I waited a day and then fulfilled my claim online. Magically, Droids appeared, because I had one on my doorstep the next day.
 
anyone know what they are offering for warranty replacements?

Seriously? Did you read even one reply? The options are stated in almost every other reply.

Wow what the heck did I do to illicit that type of response. Sorry I didnt wade through the thread to find that just a simple question and 4 other people answered it long before you.

I had to make a claim and they had me fax in some paper and a copy of my drivers license. They then sent me to the website and it showed a Droid would be sent in replacement for my Droid. I called and was told they have plenty of Droids in stock.

It is a main reason threads get so long, and make you not want to wade through, because people ask the same, already answered questions over and over. I had read through just a few pages at the beginning and end of the thread and was able to collect all the info i needed, in just a couple minutes. And that is a reserved comment in my opinion.

people dont read and just post so then other people answer it again making the thread longer so now more people dont read and just post then people answer AGAIN (or start giving them crap for not reading ) making the thread EVEN BIGGER now more people dont read....

****ATTENTION*******

After making a claim this morning on the phone I can assure you they DO HAVE DROIDS IN SCOTK!!! I told them I dropped my phone and they said they would be sending me a DROID for my droid.

I didn't initially get promised something else then whine/complain/***** about it, they just told me I'd get a droid right away.

So there it is!!!!!!!!!!
