ASURION SUX! NO LONGER CARRIES Moto DROID!

Do all replacement phones come from Asurion? Even the warranty ones that are covered for one year?


No they don't and I am attempting to find out how VZW's stock of the droid is for these 1 year warranty replacements before going forward. but it def. doesn't go through assurion. I've had my droid replaced twice already for different reasons.

I just called Asurion today and they say that Droids are IN STOCK! I just got confirmed a BRAND NEW one is coming for me!!!


Yea I called to complete my claim and they said that my Incredible was ready to ship out then they told me to hold on and they said looks like the incredible is still on Back order but the original droid in in stock. Then I was given the option to wait for the back order DI or get a D1. Hell I've waited 4 weeks whats a few more days gona do. Or perhaps they may be trying to get me to change my mind and get the D1. I was offered a DI, i've waited this long now I expect DI.

Anyone elas was given this and and got the DI in the recent days?

I called again yesterday and I was told that I was NOT going to get an incredible but a D1 because they were in stock and the D1 was going to ship out. Oh hell no I told her, "you made me wait over a month promised me a DI as a replacement, that is what I expect nothing less" She said that they do not offer Di as replacements. She also said besides they are on a 3-7 day back order. I explained to her that I was offered a DI to look at her records and she did and said oh...and she placed me on hold for 5 min to talk to a supervisor.

When she came back she said "I have great news, I have your droid incredible here ready to ship out"... and sure enough today I got a BRAND NEW DI! They promised me one but they were trying to go back on their word and send out a d1.

Goes to show that once they make you an offer, you need to stand your ground or you can really get screwed by them.

How is your DI? Like it better than the Droid?
 
Dam, ive been following this thread since it started, i shouldve just broken my phone the rest of the way a while ago for a DI. My screen has lost alota sensitivity despite cleaning and my cameras gotten very blurry even tho lense is fine. Anyone kno how long they usually keep refurbing after end of production?

Basically as long as people still have insured defective/damaged droids to send in. They will most likely continue to accept droids and if there are none in stock to replace, they will start replacing with droid2's in the future (continue with dincs, x's as of now now if no d1's in stock).
 
Well yea, i kno they keep replacing them... they better for $8 a month lol. But im just wondering if theres a usual certain amount of time before they give up on refurbing a discontinued handset and just start giving upgrades instead?
 
Not sure what is going on with Asurion. They have been in and out of stock of D1's. I finally pulled the trigger today (online) and submitted my claim.

Yesterday the online system told me to pick either a MOTO Devour or the LG. Today when I went to resume my claim I was not offered that choice anymore and the confirm said I was getting a D1. The odd thing is my deductible was was the old $50 and not the $89 that others are saying they paid. I used to have a BB on my line, upgraded another family members line and switched phones so my line is now the D1. Wonder if they still have me as owning a "not as smart" smart phone.

Oh well, it's coming tomorrow. I only wish they would send me a new D2 instead (don't really want a DI or DX due to no physical keyboard)...one can only dream. I will be happy with just a D1.
