I find this hard to believe…..I have a feeling there is something more to this.

did you call them to replace your phone within 7 days of receiving your refurb? i did and the rep said the exact same thing to me. offered me the same BS phones but i asked if theres anything else he could do. he then offered me a brand new incredible but I have yet to decide on that.. how did you get a new droid from VZW? I think I would prefer a new droid over a new incredible. i told asurion I'm going to think about it before i make my decision but I have to make my decision really soon

Just went to the VZW store and explained my situation. They talked to asurrion, confirmed my story and gave me a new Droid. The reps at VZW really are top notch when it comes to customer service.

The Incredible is a great phone. But if you like to "tinker" with stuff, the Droid is possibly the best phone you can get. I remember(back in the day), building my own PC and tweaking every little detail to get the best performace from it...thats why I love the Droid. I'm also one of those who love the physical keyboard. For right now, the Droid is the only really "ground breaking" phone to come along in a while. I would say...Second to the iphone. The Droid X and Incredible are fantastic phones BUT just because a phone has a faster processor or bigger screen doesnt make it better.

Well, Im not as knowledgable about phones as some of you guys are. I had filled a claim as my droid feel into the swimming pool. They replaced it with a DESIRE. Is this a downgrade?

I hope they meant the Incredible or are sending you at least a Verizon phone.
As the Desire is a GSM phone not a CDMA.

Actully, the box has a manufacturer stamp by the bar code that says DESIRE, but when I log onto my verison it reads it as a ERIS. I got the phone replaced yesterday, am I better off or did they screw me? And what might be a viable solution?

You got screwed, the Eris is a downgrade from the Moto Droid

Your replacement should have been an Incredible, not an Eris, which is a downgrade after all, and an HTC desire wouldn't even work on Verizon so I don't know how that was even thrown into the mix. I would call them back and request an incredible

did you accept the eris through the website or vocally on the phone? not sure what else you can do if you already accepted it. if you simply look at the price of the phone and the build quality of it online or look for some comparisons, its obvious that the phone is a downgrade..

Yes, dont accept it and go into the Verizon store and *****. From what has been posted in this thread, they will give you a brand new Droid.

True enough. I am sure though that many on the Inc wait list have canceled recently to get the DX. I foresee increased availability on the DInc in the near future

i DID GO INTO THE vs, THANKS FOR THE HEADS UP. they HAD ME CALL assurances AND THEY WILL BE SENDING ME AN incredible WHEN THE BACK ORDER IS UP, ABOUT A WEEK THEY SAID. they SAID i COULD USE THE PHONE THEY SENT TILL THEN BUT NOT TO HARM IT OR I WILL BE CHARGED. i THINK Ill JUST REACTIVATE ONE OF MY OLD PHONES TILL THIS ONE COMES IN. thanks AGAIN.

i had the same thing happen to me. I was told that they no longer carried the moto droid in stock and they tried to give me this phone called the rock ?? it is the waterproof one and i was like that phone can in no way compare to my phone at all and had them look up the terms on which i agreed to the insurance and it plainly said that a similar phone would be distributed and i had them find me a phone that had android could keep up with my phone and all this was after i had my lawyer call them and explain a few things. idk what he said but a brand new droid was on my doorstep the next day after i was told they no longer carried them and they were out of stock
