ya the issue im having is i did something to my dx to enable boot sound on cm7 that didnt work well know it doesnt load up so i cant get into recovery to restore a backup so im asking if i can just root a friends stock gb droid x and restore my backup so i can be on cm7 again thats what im asking or do i have to root my friends dx then do that all in one installer crap to get cm7 on my phone then restore backup? i'm trying to get my phone to how it was again and not sure wether i can flash the cm7 backup since it used a froyo kernel and my friends dx is on gb kernel or does that even matter?

Ok... So I need help. I've managed to get all the info I've ever needed from this forum but I'm actually stuck now. My DX is running cm7 gb (rev's 8/28) and I've been quite happy with it but I can't figure this out. No matter what I do I can't get into clockwork recovery. It doesn't matter if I use the power button or go through rom manager or terminal emulator. I get stuck on the red Moto logo and have to pull the battery. It will boot up just fine after that but I need to get into clockwork. Any ideas would be much appreciated. Thanks

I haven't run into any issues with cm7 this time around. I saw some people were having trouble with clockwork, and an sbf/reinstall should fix it.

I got almost 14 hours yesterday and was at 15% when I went to bed, and that was with 30+ minutes of pocket legends. Pretty good!

I'd hate to have to SBF again now that it's running so well. I was able to make a nandroid backup before I had this issue but I haven't changed anything since so I can't imagine what the issue could be. I was going to flash the most recent nightly when I got stuck on the red M. That first attempt was using the power button/reboot/recovery. I then tried to install from SD in rom manager with the same result. Even tried to get in with terminal emulator for the hell of it and got the same result. Grr

I gotta say that cm7 gb is running smooth as butter much better battery life
Edit: ok so I take it back. Now I can't boot into recovery.. any suggestions?

So... after sbf again, this time to .602, I'm once again running smooooth on CM7gb. Flashed Jakebitesmods and now all uv'd and oc'd to 1.2.

I have to highly recommend the .602 sbf with the GB one click. The first time was nice and easy on .340 sbf with the tbh pre-rooted but definitely had some issues. They were minor, and would not have bothered me, but there is a noticeable improvement this time around. I did flash the more recent nightly off rootzwiki (9/3 I think) as opposed to the 8/28 build off rev's that was available when I flashed last time.

Hey everyone, i just rooted my friends droid x. flashed cm7 for GB, and bootstrapped to recovery for droid x but got stuck on the "M" logo so i did a battery pull. once i turned it back on, im still stuck on the "M". can anyone please help?

If you are on or were on cm7 when you used "bootstrapper" you will need to sbf....sorry...but bootstrapper messes up the 2nd init process

Hey thanks for the reply, and yeah i ended up coming across that after i did the bootstrap =/ how do i sbf the phone now? im still kind of a noob to all this. all i knew how to do was root and flash. thanks for any replys helping out this noob =]




EDIT: Nevermind! found a video on youtube on how to sbf to 602 and worked like a charm. thanks for everyones help though! =]

Ok so I was able to get the phone up and running on cm7 and so far so good. But everytime I try to restore the phone to stock+root it keeps freezing in the same spot during its restoring of data. So i tried restoring another session of stock+root but after its done and I go to boot system now, it gets stuck at the M logo. Any suggestions on how I can restore my phone? I just to be able to so i can access my older text messages. Thanks for any replies
