Bionic build 5.9.901....Initial impressions......and what we know so far

just ran the 4ever root....hit option 3 and it said "all done" your phone should be 4ever rooted....will try the download for the update
 
NO GO......Put the ZIP file on my SD card. Ran Reboot recovery and told it to "apply update from .zip file on SD Card". It then said
Finding update
Opening update
blah blah blah and then it said installation aborted....
Was I supposed to unzip the file then install on sd card?

You need to be in the Stock Recovery.

1. Download the file from above and drop it on the root of your SD card
2. Reboot into stock recovery <----Power phone off, then hold volume down and power. When menu comes up press volume down to move to recovery and volume up to select recovery.
3. When the robot appears, press both volume keys in at the same time.
4. Select &ldquo;apply update from sdcard&rdquo; using the volume keys, then the power switch to initiate it.
5. Choose the file that you downloaded above and let it load. If you see this, be sure to let us know. Loading on my Bionic now. **Note* &ndash; Likely breaks root methods. Perma-root may leave you with root though.

Now I did 4ever root. Then downloaded zipped file to me sd card. Then I ran CWM recovery and hit the option to apply from zip...I did not do these steps listed..Is that my problem?
 
You were posting while I was typing! lol I will try this and report...
 
Funny... I went back and copied the same post to make sure my directions were right.

All right did that now I have the android guy with a triangle and exclamation mark...no options...cant power off or reboot...
 
Press volume up and down together.

Hit the three buttons together and told it to install...Going thru update I think.....Finding update package...Opening....will update

I get the same error in stock recovery. I just gave up trying to do it.
