Bug Fixes and a Little More What Else Could You Ask For- Sapphire 0.6.2

Luna and Stock themes are finished, and we are currently in the process of uploading them to the proper locations.

As per request, I have also taken the liberty of creating drop and smoked glass themes that do not include fonts.

I also wanted to clarify that alternate kernels will only work if they use Koush's AnyKernel format to update (this is the format P3 uses). Sapphire uses a modified initialization image (included on the boot partition) and will hang at boot time if it is overwritten. AnyKernel pulls that image and repackages the new kernel with it, allowing the system to continue booting.

Lastly, we have also updated our main download link to be direct instead of mediafire (thanks to dave kover for the webspace!). Mediafire will still be used as a mirror.

booted and running on Chevy's LV 1.2GHZ

Stable at 1.2GHZ/550MHZ

Everything working perfectly....

Great job cvpcs and team.

I have not been sucessful in getting maps to work in a froyo rom yet, but I would really like to get it to work in this rom because it is so smooth I think I will keep it. I checked in system/app and there is not a maps.apk, in the market it shows Maps--Free, when I try to download and install it, it says installation unseccessful. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hmmm...is your Wifi working with the Chevy kernel?

I tried with a 1.0 Chevy kernel that's always worked on my phone. Booted and worked fine, but trying to activate Wifi caused a freeze and then a bootloop. I had to do a battery pull and restore my backup.

Just found an issue...

I cannot get tapatalk to work...

usual search of motorola Droid usually yields droidforums.net now it just sits endlessly on "processing"

I have enabled non-market items to be downloaded.

Anybody else having this problem?

previous versions I had the same problem....

So far so good.

All apps restored through the Market (including restoring Google Sky Maps to the SDCard)

Haven't been able to test wifi yet.

Haven't tried putting the p3 1 ghz kernel I was using back on yet either.

will let you know how everything else goes! Going to restart and backup once all my setup tweaks are done.

ETA

Don't know if this will be fixed after a restart, but I notice that my root applications keep brining up the pop up that "x applications has been granted superuser permissions," every time I open them...

That's not a bug, it's a default setting in Superuser. Simply go into superuser, hit menu, and go to "Preferences". Under "Notification" you can set it to "None" to disable that popup.

wifi works with included kernel.

installed P3s LV1000 and it boots fine but wifi caused reboots. had to revert to included kernel.

phone was super smooth at 1ghz...

P3 just informed me that he has deemed some kernels ready for testing, as well as verified that they work specifically with Sapphire 0.6.2. Expect release tonight :)

Is there a link to just the current kernel? I'd like to try going back to jdlfg's kernels but I don't want to have to reinstall everything if it fails.

I would also like a link to the current kernel if you wouldn't mind. I intend to try out the new kernels when they get released, but on the off chance they dont work, I would really like to just install a new kernel as opposed to reinstalling the ROM.

Take care,
Rob
