CyanogenMod 7 for Droid 2 Global [Beta]

I went 18 hours yesterday, but I ran the phone at 800MHz, still ran buttery smooth though. I'm running it stock today though and it seems as like I might be able to get 20 hours of battery life, so I'm not sure how scaling the cpu down helps.

I have just been testing to see if scaling would help. I just ram the v6 supercharger script to see if it will make a difference. Going tl run it tomorrow at 1000 then at 1200 to compare.

Well we kinda just hit a brick wall at full speed. We just realized that all our fixes were made with the phone identifying itself as a D2 and not a D2G. Meaning we may need to re-do them all. So far it appears that just the sensors are the reliant part on identification but I haven't done much testing.

Well we got it working, a quick fix from rev made it work as a d2g. Just had to rename the libs to match the build.prop changes.

I used to have a Droid 1. Ran CM on it. Thing crapped out. My replacement is a Droid 2. Honestly I would have preferred the Droid 1 again, but apparently Verizon isn't offering them anymore. But really, the only thing I like / need from a custom ROM is to remove all the bloat shet and let me install a netfilter enabled kernel for the Wireless Tether app. Now... I've done the root for the Droid 2, installed ROM Manager and Droid 2 Bootstrap and flashed the CM Recovery. But, apparently we can't install custom kernels on the D2G? So... looks like Wireless Tether is out the door. And I'm not sure I wanna go through the Custom ROM hassle (crashes and buggy shet) just to clear out the bloat so... what's going on with the Kernels and Wireless Tethering, is that completely off the table, a month down the road, or what?

Wifi tether works without a custom kernel, a lot of people here use it. Even without a custom kernel, we can do everything we want to do like overclock, wifi tether, we can even run cm now.

I see. Apparently I was trying to run the beta version and it wasn't working. Dropped down to 2.0.7 and it works.

Ok, so where are you guys installing CM from? In ROM Manager, the only thing I can get to come up are Nightlies

On a forum from rootzwiki. We took a build of the D2 one and we've been hacking it consistently to make things work. So far the only bugs I've seen are 2 USB icons, inverted camera and GSM doesn't work yet.

If you want a perfectly working build get angel mod, hexen or fission. But those are froyo...

Can someone tell me a actual 3g speedup / unthrottle that is working on our global running cm? My 3G speeds been a lot lower than should be / used to be.

Thanks. Love CM guys!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

Dumb question. The build for CM7 is on rootwiki, On the first page of that forum is the build. Does that include all of the fixes, or do I have to download fixes throughout that forum?

Thanks. I love my hexen rom, but looking to try this out till updates come out. Not positive what the benefits to using com rom will be for me.

I will read until I am sure how to do it properly. After I back up with titanium, do I need to sbf or can I just wipe data and cache and install over hexen rom?

See my build.prop in the update.zip you can apply over a Cm7 build or you can use my barebones (REMOVE CLOCKWORKMOD FIRST IF YOU USE IT). It has the 3G speed hacks mentioned in other forums as well as there being another hack you can apply to the radio directly but I haven't tested it. At work I get 1.7 mb/s whereas before I would get around 1 mb/s
