CyanogenMod 7 for Droid 2 Global [Beta]

Dumb question. The build for CM7 is on rootwiki, On the first page of that forum is the build. Does that include all of the fixes, or do I have to download fixes throughout that forum?

Not quite true. A few pages ago on rootzwiki I added an update.zip that has various fixes for tether, possibly gsm, identifies it as a D2G and it has the speed hack as well as a camera fix from the DX that made the camcorder work a little better.

Is that the bare bones zip you posted or the fix to flash on top of origional build? Can you post link to your 3g hack zip?

My bad. I see you have 2 files there. I see they are rar files. Do I need to have a special app to open them from android phone to apply?

Tried to download but it said download unsucceful. Not supported on phone. Do I need to have cm rom installed before downloading these files? Sorry for the noon questions. I just like to have all files before I start.

Well you just download the files from your computer from the mediafire link. Then you open the rar file with winrar or any other program capable of opening the file. Then if you have Cyanogenmod already just install the update.zip. If you don't then just run the full install. You will need to follow the instructions of the OP as mine is just a tweaked version of that. Most people will want just the updates on the op build.

It is a rar file with my barebones build in a .zip and an additional .zip file with the fixes that should be ran with it. Or they can be ran seperate on any build 7 version of CM4D2G (The OP build).

I'm currently running hexen. I really like it but I am getting bored with froyo. Is this rom worth the hassle or should I just wait for a gb version of hexen. It seems like cm7 is as close as it gets and who knows when gb will be released and a custom version be available, but I just worry about the camera glitches. I'm sure this rom will be amazing when gb is released also. I guess I'm just getting tired of flashing back and forth between roms. Does cm7 have better battery than hexen? And final question... is there a way to get the gb style status bar into this? Sorry for the spew of questions but I am just really curious about this rom but don't want to be disappointed.

Camera works perfectly (surprisingly, I just found out an hour ago) on angel's build 7, but the camcorder is sporadic. I managed to get it to work for 1 short video before it went back to being mirrored. Battery life...Somewhat limited, depending on how you use it.

It'll be a while.... Fenuxx is on a new schedule with work and I'm working on cm7. Besides, cm7 (or any fully aosp rom) will be better than the hacked up roms like hexen or angel just because they are completely blur free where as the others are just mostly blur free.

Well all I need to know is that the rom is easy on battery, has all working features(including cameras) and is stable and looks nice. I like the features of cm7 but the camera is a big for me because I'm always taking pics and record vids of my son. I will try cm7 when these are worked out.

Just thought I would mention that I am getting just fine battery life. If anyone is not sure if they want to try cm7, just go for it. The camera is the only thing for me making it not perfect, but im ok with that, I could just mirror them back later on my computer if I need to. Good luck!
