Does your 4G ever drop for a few seconds or a couple of minutes?

And interestingly enough it's happening to Rezound owners as well. Definitely an issue Verizon needs to address.

The 3 bionics that I had would lose data for 15 mins at a time. My razor just goes out and them it comes right back on.

Is this because of your location? Rebooting has always worked for me. Yes, I know, unacceptable solution

I would try just killing the IM app first. That's what I did, and have not had any problems since. I wasnt getting data drops like everyone else, but I could barely keep a signal in my house. Now I get 2 to 3 bars all the time, and my DL speeds are faster. Changing sims may or may not work. These fixes are all anecdotal and no proof that in the long run they will not fail again. Since the Razr does not have this issue while the Maxx does, the only other thing I can think of is there were errors introduced in some of the coding in the 6.12.181.XT912 update (Maxx) vs the 6.12.181.XT910 (Razr) update. Only have to an error on one line in a critical part of the os to create this mess. And who knows, downloading the update could have created an error in the update depending on how stable the connection was. Whether is was through wifi or 4G. That could explain why some people have the issue, and others do not on the Maxx.

So, because it isn't obvious or I'm blind, what is the name of hte IM app I would want to kill? Why not just freeze it with Titanium if I never use it? What's it called there?

Verizon and Motorola both claim there is no issue :angry:and it doesn't look like there will be a fix anytime soon

I dont know if Verizon has officially said anything, but a csr I had talked to said he has the same problem and it has to do with changes/updating they are doing to the 4g network.

My drops were happening daily at work and seemed to happen about 10 to 15 minutes after I took the phone out of sleep. Went to VZ corp store yesterday was told by one csr that my Advanced task killer was causing the problem so he uninstalled it but after that did not fix the drops they replaced the sim card. But I was told that my problem was a software issue so we will see today if this is resolved. One thing that kind of made me mad was the csr's response "you don't pay any extra for 4g"

I'm in Orlando and have been having the same issue for the past couple of weeks. I spoke to tech support and they informed me it was a known issue, though they weren't sure when it would be fixed. It's very frusturating to say the least.

I also have this problem. Did not have it until about 10 days ago. Never lost data until then.

It always shows a signal, but simply loses connection. This sucks!

Wow, very interesting thread mbell. Thank you big time. I read through the whole thing. It seems like it is a sim card issue but the sim card fix is not fixing it for everyone.

I was having the same problems with my Maxx dropping 4G. I had a Samsung mi-fi for 8 months that held a steady, strong 4G signal so I knew it couldn't be the signal. I went in yesterday and had a new SIM card put in and they reset it. SO FAR, I've had almost 24 hours without dropping my 4G signal. The woman who helped me told me my phone wasn't reliably receiving the signal from the tower. It wasn't ringing in for most incoming calls and now it's ringing reliably too. They were really helpful and didn't give me any grief.

My 4g came back up about 12 hours from when I first noticed. During that time I was also experiencing periodic data drops. Smh.....

I just noticed that if I use WI fi,, it also drops the connection from time to time. So maybe it's not Verizon?
