Does your 4G ever drop for a few seconds or a couple of minutes?

Just a note: my maxx is stock except for a few apps like Facebook and Foursquare. Shame all the radios are hosed on a Motorola wireless device :/ I'm with you on the fact that there is likely a problem with the latest update that is exploited by the use of some apps. There definitely hasn't been any one thing that has worked for everyone as far as kill this or that or a new phone or SIM or a specific app.

Is there any hardware difference between the maxx and non maxx Razr besides the battery? Why would there be a different build?

There is no difference between the two other than battery. I was just guessing that part of the code could have got messed up somehow. They have different batteries, so the codes could be slightly different between the os. Even if they are not, errors could have been introduced when coding up for the xt910 and xt912.

My 4G hasn't dropped once since taking out the sim card and putting it back in. It's been 6 hours so that's a good sign

Update: it dropped while I was in Google Play, but then when i went on droidforums it picked up, then it dropped in google play...took a minute or two to start working again

Just curious, do you have your apps set to automatically update? In google play you can set that up and was wondering if that may be the cause. I do not have mine set to auto update. Just grasping at straws here.

Wxman: I have a select few apps set to autoupdate but largely, no.

There have been dozens of theories and tips to fix this and I've wasted days on this problem but nothing has solved it.

Over at android central someone started a thread about clearing the cache after booting into recovery. Some are having success stopping the data drops doing this. Don't know if there was any mention of it in this thread as I didn't read the whole thread. Just passing along some maybe helpful info.

Nope. I do it manually.

I have only had one drop for only a few seconds the last 3 days since installing this ICS leak, it's been great. However, I was stuck in 3G this morning and had to restart to get 4G back.

Fwiw ive had a few Simms and didnt change a thing. Still drops from time to time. Im thinkin of gettin a 3g phone. Might be slower but at least it doesnt drop....well actually I probably wont cause almost every 3g phone I had would lock up so same difference. Once my contract is up I will be going to a Droid of sorts flashed to straight talk. At least ill cut my bill in half :( damn Verizon. Of course once I do that they will fix it. Lol

Well I have a friend whos charge has been doing it recently. Maybe it originally only messed with the Maxx and Verizon has done some new thing to cause it to spread. I know it happenz to me at least 4 times a day when im using it. Who knows how many times it happens that I dont notice.
