Just picked up a nice Original Droid... epic trade up story, and am very happy. It plays backup now for my Incredible, but came with the recent OTA upgrade to 2.2.2 so the simple Root solutions are not working, and I found the wonderful "Root Droid 1 regardless of OS version" thread, so of course I had to join. I am on many forums since my first smart phone the Samsung i760, then picked up an HP iPaq 2415, the infamous HTC Vogue, onto the Palm Pre with the truly great WebOS, finally the HTC Incredible and last but not least my new Droid 1. I love the Droid 1 for its Keyboard and Sturdy build, but my Incredible is the better Android device, but not by enough that you could get the Droid 1 out of my dead hand any easier than the Incredible...

Hey, everyone! I was shocked to see that I've yet to post to Droid Forums. I transitioned to the DX from my 5-year old Palm Treo 700p. I enjoy tinkering with things, and so in no time I was rooted and overclocked. I've been super satisfied with the ApeX ROM, and I'm stable and fast on 1.3.1. I use my phone mainly for business, with an emphasis on corporate e-mail and document viewing and editing. I love Swype, especially since my initial misgivings about the DX was the lack of physical keyboard, like my Treo. However, I don't miss a thing about that old physical keyboard. I am almost 50yo, and live in western South Dakota with my wife and children.
