Downgrade to 902 - No app or data loss

like I said, I was rooted with razr's edge and the latest Super User GUI and binary which works like voodoo internally, but I forgot to temp unroot, and was ready to reroot as soon as it came up from FDR so I could restore my backups and redo my OC, but there it was smirking at me when I opened the app drawer, it's an ICS to ICS update, flies thru perfectly as of now. wait wait wait.....you're still on GB aren't you? I think my protected root got nuked even temp unrooted coming from 905 to 2233, but just run razr's edgae and BLAM

OH, anybody else notice the bloat being ultra stubborn? most of it pops back even if you break the market link?

Don't forget to go into system/bin and rename bugstogo.sh as bugstogo.sh.bak (or any nonsense extension) to defeat the bug system that reports user data and crash data to moto

Thank You SamuriHL!! Your HOB worked perfectly to update my Bionic 223 early release to 232!! Thank you!! Only thing I'd add is in the instructions, that when you mean go step-by-step in order, that you mean in the HOB menu. May sound dumb, but it took me a minute or two to understand that's what you meant after reading and re-reading your initial post.

Thanks again!!!!

I've having a hard time getting the House of Bionic Components 1.0 file to launch so I can install it...any ideas?

Edit: Never mind just took a minute to load :happy3:

Well here I sit with HOB installed ready to go, I've put off going above .232 just because there has been no end to the devolpment cycle for ICS so far.:)
The thing is now I'm getting a itchy trigger finger and I really don't want to have to set everything back up from scratch.
I guess my main questions are

1. How stable is .242 using this method to keep data? I ask because .232 didn't do well at all restoring data using TB and ended up doing a FDR anyway.

2. Just want to verify Blur_Version.5.9.905.XT875.Verizon.en.US(67242).zip is the name of the file the script is looking for on the SD card because I saw something about it getting renamed by accident when .242 was first added correct?

3. what I believe is going to happen in my case is HOB is going to copy the .242 file to Ext SD, Launch RSD, put me in fastboot mode and FXZ me back to .905 using the non data loss .905 fxz file, then flash .242 in recovery, or something along those lines. Just verifying ahead of time, thanks!

Dautley. I was the lug nut that was talking about renaming files. Don't read or do any of that. I was tired and over thought the process which Samurai had made idiot proof. I guess I am just an above average idiot! :)

Here is what I did:

Download HoB 5.5, components 1.0. and the support file for 242. Open the downloaded files in the same order and everything will install where it needs to go. Then open the house of bionic folder that was created on your desktop and launch the program. It its that simple! Run each step in order and HoB will install 242 a you described in step 3. Good luck!

Yea, it's rather.....large. :) Takes a minute to unpack everything.

LOL! well a couple of things going from .232 to.242, I had copied the .242 zip file (not folder)out the package and the MD5 didn't match so deleted that and let HOB do it. While intalling the HOB package I was almost thinking it had got caught in a boot loop (rebooted three or four times) and I think after sitting for about 40 minutes on a blank screen picked the phone up and did a battery pull and manually booted into recovery and I manually flashed the file on the SD card and .242 with all my data came up so good deal:hail:

I wish I remembered exactly the steps that gave me trouble, I guess I shouldn't have taken that Ambien before starting:icon_eek: but it all worked out well. Anyway, here's the log file.

It worked well Samuri, just wasn't expecting to have to do the manual recovery boot but everything turned out perfect:D Thank you!

Leave it to me not to read every thing, lol, anyway it worked as expected, I'll have to print out the instructions and check everything off with a pen next time, haha,
Anyway, it done and I'll know if we have another leak come out:)
