Droid Bionic on 9/1/11?

I can't see this being released right after the D3. Why release a slider, then release another right after except with 4G? To me, it makes more since to release the D3, then the Bionic, then this.

The blog entry even says it's also based off the Fascinate (ancient history), not the GSII.

The only thing making me doubt a late July or early August release date for the Bionic is the lack of clear specs 2 weeks before it is supposed to be available. If it is due out in two weeks I'd think we'd know. This makes late Aug or early Sept seem possible .

The only info from people who would know says late Aug or early Sept. (Actually, it was stated as "Bionic release 2 months after Droid 3 release")

I have never seen anything but speculation pointing to an earlier release than late Aug or early Sept.

That said, I hope it is sooner and there have been a few things that make me think it could be sooner, but I still would not get my hopes up for seeing Bionic much before September.

I agree with Preach. Why make the Bionic mini website appear now and then not release the phone until September?

Yea...I cant see it getting released so late after the page being put up either.

I'm on the verge of just waiting til sometime next year for a phone...

Where? This is the first time I've heard 9/1 anywhere. There are screen shots showing 8/4 and the latest date that was speculated was mid August. I'd love to know where you're getting your info from

I hope its wrong. Even tho Sept is 1 month after Aug, I might as well just wait til next year. Aug is already pushing it..

Yeah but I've been hearing the same early August timeline on there. I haven't seen anything about September.

Maybe Preach can help me out here. He's better at finding that stuff than I am and I find it very hard to navigate at HoFo, but like I said I've never heard anything suggesting a Sept. release until this.

I am also not saying 9/1 is the release date, just that it shouldn't be a surprise to anyone and it is not "another" delay. I don't consider anonymous screen shots to be a reliable indicator of a release date.(although sometimes they can be proven correct ) Everything else earlier than late August/early Sept. is just speculation or uncorroborated leaks, but things can change and it is not impossible that it will be released earlier, I just wouldn't "expect" it much sooner.

This phone woulda been great two months ago! Way to go moto.. nothing like inserting yourself into the middle of the pack...,Maybe i should just go get an iphone on AT&T...

I cant wait till this handset crap is over with and i wont have to deal with this bs anticipation and waiting games for another 2 years

The end of waiting is right... the end of waiting for a overcooked device that cant launch when its supposed to.

I don't remember the time frame exactly but didn't vzw have the OG droid sign up sheet out for about 2 weeks then put up the specs site for about 2 weeks before lunch? So if history repeats itself we should see the bionic second or third week in Aug.

If this thing is coming any later than early August why wouldn't we just pass on it and get a quad core phone that's supposed to be here in November? I mean isn't that the time line for quad core? I think if we've all shown we're patient enough for the bionic why not just wait two months? Hell why not just ride out my damn contract and go to sprint? I'm really beginning to loath Verizon and Motorola.
