Droid Bionic on 9/1/11?

I think the overall point is, when you design a flagship device, things should be better planned out. Now when we receive the Bionic, it will honestly be behind in hardware because of the redesign delays.

The screen itself is one huge letdown as much better screens have been released since the beginning of the Bionic design and yet we aren't seeing them swap the screens out because they've invested so much time and money in a phone that should have been released 3-4 months ago, which would have given it that 3-4 months of being ahead of the pack.

Minus the screen, how is it considered behind in hardware when the GS2 hasn't even made it to the US yet? Even including the screen, the Amoled + might be seen as better, but that doesnt mean its behind in hardware. It wont be behind, it will be comparable to whats out at the moment.

So when the GS 2 finally gets to the US, if it doesnt have LTE is it gonna be seen as behind in hardware? Someone in another thread said the D3 had old tech. That was funny, really.

For real, one could say that if a phone doesnt have 3D or LTE, 4G its behind in hardware as of right now. I dont think that, but one could argue that as of right now.

We still don't have a release date for this phone, we have estimations, so you can't honestly argue against the fact that some if not all of the hardware will be outdated by the time the Bionic is released.

That's my point, proper planning and execution by Moto would prevent this issue.

We don't even know the hardware for certain.
Why do you assume some or all of it will be outdated? It could be dual 1.5 gHZ with a 15 mp camera and a 1080p screen for all we know.
(p.s. I just argued against it. :) )

Plus who cares. All phones become outdated fast with the way Android is moving.

Ok, my question is this: when the GS2 finally hits the US, will you consider that behind in hardware? Yea its already been out for a few months, but not here in the US. Or would you wait for something thats more current as far as hardware?

I assume because it was delayed by 4 months that the hardware we're waiting patiently to be released is already being used by other phones.

We get an old screen, dual core is no longer exclusive to the Bionic, front facing camera is not exclusive, 4G LTE isn't exclusive. It's quickly becoming old news because they allowed it to be delayed this long.

Which goes back to the fact that they weren't on top of things when designing and executing this devices release.

This could have been prevented if they weren't rehashing phones like the Droid 2, DX2, D3...

All worthless phones compared to the Bionic.

Granted the D3 has it's use for keyboard users, but that's is a very small market.

The leaked Bionic specs show it to be hardly a difference from the D3, and still not a huge difference from the X2.

The only thing is pretty much 4G. And that has had some issues with other phones.

Not sure how the X2 and D3 are "useless."
And the Droid 2 was released a year ago...

So you agree that the Bionic's hardware will be mostly "old" by the time we get it?

I think we agree then =P

If they are what they have been rumored, and doesn't release by mid-april, then yes I agree.

But I have a feeling that MOTO has better specs on it for the long wait.
And they better, lol.

The Galaxy S2 is probably the best phone in the world. I doubt its outdated.

Being outdated does not mean somethings not worth having.

A 1961 Ferrari 250 GT is outdated, but it's definitely worth having.

Moto allowed the Bionic to be considered outdated instead of being ahead of the pack(which it should have been and would have been great for business) by about 3-4 months because of their failure to plan properly and deliver a flagship phone because of their desire to make multiple phones which could have all been slapped into one, the Bionic.

Im sorry to say but there is a android that does both data and calling as well. But then again im sure there is a copywrite on that tech like ms does with x360 on all games implementing ingame music.

No about perfecting the phone ah death grip anyone yeah. Big over sight that was only fixed for verizons iphone 4 to my knowledge. And i know plenty of people who are having issues with that phone. The only difference.is.moto did its job with research and testing that lead to this whereas apple allowed a major flaw to go ahead. And moto releising one phone does not mean the right phone for everyone. Moto wants sales.and as i said they most likely don't have only 3 people working for them but teams of engineers so really why should they waiste all that resource one one phone? Some people want a basic phone some people want an mid rang phone and some want highend why deny those and give it to another company? Why do you think there are so many ps3 and 360s. One phone with 16gb and one phone with 32 gb iw not really a choice especially when use droid users can buy a 1,2,4,8,16,32gb card and different classes of those cards so we can save money or get the best if we choose. Many pgones from a company is good not bad. Its bad when said company makes all crappy phones though.

And apple product has always been 3rd place for me cause they don't do what i need them to do like pc and when they do i have to work harder cause its not really meant to do it but was supported.half assed. And price was they charge top of the line when there not. But you are most likely a steve jobs fan so this is useless and to be clear this.is my first android and first smart phone and i don't like it or any smart phones in general cause my feature phone came smarter then this i had to download apps to make it the same and the same is with Iphone. But i rather be on an android. Then a apple product any day of the week. Also with rumors.of.iphone 5 still 3g really now. Top of the line phone yeah.

I really don't think it's outdated. Seems to fit right in with all the other phones out now. I'm not expecting quad core or anything until next year so I don't see what's so outdated but to each their own.
