Droid Bionic on 9/1/11?

The Galaxy S2 is probably the best phone in the world. I doubt its outdated.

it haz no 4g... that's a maajor missing element when looking for the best...Besides.. it doesnt even play crysis :)

I am pretty sure it does. And even without its the best.

It's too thin in its current form to have an LTE radio. Best is subjective in this case as well.

Isn't it 4G in the rest of the world?

I don't consider HSPA+ real 4G. :p

Besides, if it were to go to Verizon it would need an LTE radio and, in its current form (factor), it's too thin. This makes it a 3G for cdma networks.

LTE isn't real 4G.... and T-Mobile is "upgrading" there 4G to hit 42 mbs.
That is higher than VZW LTE if I am remember.

But it is a bummer that it won't have LTE...I was hoping on that.

LTE isn't real 4G....

Technically they are both 4G so yes it is real 4G. I personally don't consider HSPA+ real 4G because the speeds that T Mobile and AT&T get are only slightly better than what their 3G speeds were. Even WiMax is a better than HSPA+ in the US (right now).

Isn't 100mbs+ considered 4G?

Oh boy. Yes in terms of wireless but you need to go look up the change in definition of 4G. It's since been changed technology that is capable of speeds like that and their predecessors. I can't really explain right now because I'm on a time crunch but I'm sure someone else can.

From what i heard with lte is its supposed to be future proof. Kinda like cable internet easily upgradeable when needed. Thats why lte is considered real 4g and others 3.5g, hence the name long term evolution lte. I know att is upgrading to an lte network soon from what every 3.5g they're using now. T mobile may also be moving to lte as well but ay that point why different speeds it like fios and xfinity cable companies(yes fios is a cable company no matter how.much they denie it cause they don't want the bad press cable has thats all) xfinity has faster speeds cause there willing to spend the money on pumping it out. Once t mobile gets it done i suspect verizon to make theirs faster since thats what their billing with their lte as fastest 4g.

I wouldn't be certain on that!! I just went to ATT.com and chatted with a salesman who said ATT has much faster 4G than anyone else!! We should totally believe this person right!!

Haha...anyway, I see Verizon as having its LTE network years ahead of ATT/TMO/Sprint/etc.

Those other 3 companies might not even get LTE for a while, and when they do, they'll be behind.

I don't see myself getting an LTE phone for a while though.
So far, there have been some battery issues, and better safe then sorry.

Well thats what i heard thats what there supposed to be getting. I think only a couple countries only have lte and one is us and the other is korea. Korea had lte now for a little longer then us. For some reason they get all the new phone tech before anyone else. My brothers girlfriend had a phone 4 years before america got it. It was 4g even before all the other companies even had 4g in america. Of course since there was no 4g she had only up to 3g but it used the hspa+ network version hspa+ and wimax or whatever its called are supposed to be older 4g then lte. Thats why verizons spanks everyone elses 4g. New to us but very old to korea.

Isn't Samsung from Korea?
And thats kinda weird that they have had it for a while.
Id expect it in Europe first.

I think the phone was a samsung so i guess but no apparrently korea gets everything new it wouldn't surprise me if the bionic was out over there lol. But then again verizon is not in that country so i guess not. But her phone was a jailbroken phone so it could be used on att (yes she has or had it i think my bro got a family plan from verizon and added her on it). Every country gets some piece of tech first it seems. Usa computers, japan game consoles, korea phones, and europe nothing they get everthing last for some unkown reason.

Well Europe got the GS2... then again, USA is one of the only who didn't.

Well the reason why its taking forever for it to come is cause they uave to make it cdma compatiable first.europe doesn't use cdma they use the other one thatuses removable sim cards. While verizon phones are now starting to have both insteadon just cdma. So gs2 if it comes is probably getting remade for both which would explain a time delay. Thats why the xperia play took longer they had to out fit it with cdma hell im still shocked that verizon got that phone. I was betting ir would have been att since they use the same bands as europe and japan.
