Droid X August 25th?

At least I am not the only one I guess. Sounds kind of selfish of me though. I just wish we all got ours the same day if we ordered the same day. That would be nice. I do hope to get it by the end of the week though! Heres hoping for us all (or at least the 7th/8th/9th orderers)

I'm not sure if there is any method to how they fill orders....I ordered mine online on the morning of 8/11. I received my tracking number on 8/17 and am set to receive it on 8/19. Overall, I'm extremely pleased. I feel bad for those that ordered days before and haven't heard anything yet. Hopefully it won't be too much longer.

Good to hear. Where are you from? I order over the phone at 9 A.M. on the 11th and I'm located in Indy. Yet to hear anything so far....

Just called VZW...here is what I learned. It is about payment date, not order date.

I was told the following "If your payment for your X was received on the 7th, 8th, 9th or 10th our phones will ship no later than the 25th." The 7th-10th is a batch shipment. Then 11th-15th...ect. That is how vzw is grouping the ship by dates.

Orders placed on the early days are more likely to be shipped first (obviously).

So...If people who paid on the 7th are getting emails today, the 15th saying the 18th as delivery date we can comfortably assume the following.

Payment--Email--Delivery
7th--15th--18th (Wednesday)
8th--16th--19th (Thursday)
9th--17th--20th (Friday)
10th--18th--23rd (Monday)

It's okay, though a little part of me died today when I did not get an email...

This has to be one of the most mismanaged phone releases of all time. They had a great opportunity to capitalize on the iphone 4 antenna and back-order woes, but instead they completely effed up on their forecasts. Another blow to my dreams of living in a country free of people wearing skinny jeans and white headphones.

I will continue to wait by my blackberry for the email, perhaps the last email of substance my blackberry will ever provide.

I ordered my X on the 9th and still haven't heard anything from VZ. I stumbled across this forum and was immediately filled with optimism so I called *611 to see where my phone was. I was given the "It'll ship by the 25th" response but this didn't satisfy me. I told the rep that many people on the Verizon forum has received their phones early and asked if there was any rhyme or reason to the madness. She was very snotty and told me that no one has received their X before the posted ship date and that folks in the forum must be lying. Wow.

I am in the exact same boat as you (ordered on the 9th). I've called 611 everyday to see if there's any update. They always pretend to do something for a minute or two, and then say "it will ship by the 25th". They're completely in the dark about the situation, which I think is ridiculous. Next time, tell her that your call is being recorded for quality assurance!

I live in Maine. Pleasantly surprised with how quick they shipped it. Wasn't expecting it until next week at the earliest. Hopefully yours is coming soon!

Ah, you are lucky. I live in Indy, and so the nearest FedEx hub is in Memphis, Tenn. so i have a pretty good location for them lol

Wade, don't get too optimistic. I'm in Indy also, and have not received a peep from VZW and I ordered online on the 7th.

I'm calling later today to see what excuse I get. But it seems if you live in the Northeast the wait is definitely shorter.

So I finally jumped the gun..I went to my local Verizon Store on Saturday the 7th and ordered a Motorola Droid X. The customer rep told me that I won't get my Droid X till August 25th? I checked the website as well and it said August 25th. :icon_eek:

How likely is it that I have to wait that loooooong...till I get my phone. I read the thread about the August 18th Shipment for Droid X and no one talked about an August 25th date.

P.S. New here! Found this forum from Google. Can't wait for my Droid X.

I ordered mine on the 4th of this month and it said it will ship out by 18, well on the 10th i received shipping number by email and came here on 11th. So you'll get you're phone probably a few days before that date they gave you.
