One thing..seems you BD-haters don't realize you are beating a dead horse.

I am not taking sides, just saying this:

BD is shut down from this site, and from AD. I doubt he will ever get into AF either since the Guides there are biased.

So those of you that hate BD say "YES! We Won!. Now listen to us and why we are right!"

No.. you didn't win.. not in the big picture anyhow. And you will never truly make your point against those who even somewhat agree with BD, mainly because of the senseless flame-war that was started.

BD and his true followers are simply banding together now, and will have their own site up soon, and th UD saga will continue. If anything, besides raising hell and putting a black eye on the WHOLE Android communities reputation, you've only made BD and his group stronger. How's that for irony??

I am not a fan of "stealing" work, and will not sit here and say BD is right for what he has done. I also will not say the CM clan is right either. I am saying that constructive critisizm would have been a lot better for the whole situation than these childish, ignorant flamewars that in the end will truly destroy the community. If the majority of the CM clan had been mature about defending their case.. I am willing to bet things would have turned out a LOT better than they have.

I do of course believe that credit is to be given where it is due, but I don't believe this whole war should have been started over it..(Yes I know that sounds repetitive).

As I have said before.. I will run whatever ROM runs best on my Droid, and for me. I will try future versions of both UD and CM, along with any other dev's ROM that intrigues me. In the end the one that runs best for me stays until someone else's beats it.

I appreciate all the dev's work equally and refuse to fall victim to these wars or be swayed into being a "fanboy" for any particular group. In the end.. if the dev's get along and work together, we all win. If the battles and dissention continue, we all LOSE..period.

Yep! Couldn't agree more... blackdroid stopped feeding his wallet.. then failed to feed his ego. So here we are now! I only hope blackdroid continues his work on his own site now.. as that is where I will be spending most of my time as soon as a forum is opened to post in. I cannot express my fustraition and anger more. I tried not to be a fanboy of any developer. But I feel bd got the shaft. And I give him my support! I have 0 respect for koush, cyanogen, and all their followers. And am hugely disappointed in droidforums decision. I am embarrassed to have a droidforums supporting member badge.

I hope to have the forum up and running around 3-4ish eastern

Maybe a "bring back Blackdroid or we bail" thread on DF as well? The more I think about it, the more this decision just pisses me off. Forums are supposed to be a place for discussion, and sometimes conflict. Every time a conversation would escalate, bam, mods would cut in.... Granted, folks that throw threats, insults, etc that are over the top SHOULD be banned, but come on! Then using the BS excuse that it was dragging DF down?

And whether or not BD did use Cyan/Koush or whoevers work isn't of concern for me. All I know is I'm running UD10 right now, and it's perfect. Didn't have the same luck w/ Cyan/Koush stuff....

Do I understand correctly that BD's ROM's pre-V10 are legit? So I don't have to feel like I'm perpetuating a wrong by running a version 9.something?

It's quite likely that his previous roms were copied versions of bugless beast.

Welp, thanks to the right decision being made, I will continue to visit these forums.

We all got blindsiding by BD. I used his roms back on version 3. Probably before most of you with "UD" sigs where even rooted. Plenty of times stuff came up about stealing from LevelUp (Beautiful widgets) and from Bugless. Both times I sided with BD, because I wanted to believe that he was on the up and up, especially because he is so helpful.

Then he was booted from AllDroid. His response was simply, that they didn't like him and accused him of putting warez in his roms, which he did with Beautiful widgets) But he claimed it was a mistake and it wouldn't happen again. AllDroid claimed that it was because of that and his taking of code from Pete.

So again, I trusted BD and followed him here for version 5. I tried so hard to believe what he was telling us about his work. I wanted to believe him, I truly did. He was always posting on his forums and trying to help people. Of course his threads were huge, mainly because of noobs asking every question under the sun. He seemed like a good guy who made a mistake with LevelUp and now with that behind him I was ready.

Then as the versions starting coming out (like 3 a week). I noticed that instead of keeping up with Pete, which he did on AllDroid, he just pumped out basically bad versions. Most people were on 7 when he was releasing 9. Around 9 i noticed way to many similarities, as did most, to Cyanogen.

I remember a few people asked him about it and he said that he was always gtalking with koush and cyanogen. so things were on the up and up. Later I learned that, before this blowout, he was not talking with anyone.

I bought RomManager due to koush's promoting it, and the fact that BD was telling all of us how great it was. It was the future of Rom delivery. I 'm glad I bought it now for CM, but at the time he released 2 versions on there, then pulled support. Claiming that Koush was making all the money on it. Well, yeah he is, he made the app, BD knew that from the beginning.

Koush later showed us all why UD wasn't loading right. That was the final straw for me. I knew that I could not trust BD, nor continue to support his "work."

With his statement made about how it was only a single .xml file and the clock that was taken, I knew that he was again trying to cover his tracks as he did before with LevelUp and Alldroid.

Please BD as an old fan of your work, move on to a new hobby. It's clear you have a hard time with honest work. You make people like Chevy, Adamz, Pete, and others look bad.

If you decide to keep "building" roms, then throw all this crap away and start over. You still probably have a legion of minions that will DL your roms. So just scrap it all and rebuild, since you say you can build, right?

This is a perfect summary of what I went through as well. I couldn't have put it better myself.

I agree with the forum's decision. Let BD go and he can take his followers with him. The last few releases of UD were buggy, and I began to get the impression on the boards that BD really didn't know what he was doing.

It's a shame that he couldn't just admit he screwed up and move on. While I'm sure there will be a lot of people that will follow him, I'm also sure that he has lost a lot of respect from others who used to enjoy what they thought was his work.

As many people that want him to be allowed to have a section here its not going to happen... If you want to follow his work you will have to do it on his site now... And thats just fine with me. I have made some good friends here at DF's and hate to leave. But Staff made a bad decision and now has lost a supporting member.

Please if you have the time will you PM me when it is live. I want to get signed up ASAP. And if you guys need any staff to help keep the trash out I will be more then willing to help out. As I am sure as soon as it is live cyanogen and koush groupies will be out in full force.

The real kicker to me is the fact that droid forums now have no home dev. So in essence why would anyone even come here if they will get answers, info, etc about the newest releases of theyre favorite roms from that devs "home" forum? seems silly to me. i know i for one wont come here very often anymore. Not mad about just a simple fact. In this day in age all our info is streamlined to maximize our time. So to eliminate a useless step to get the info i desire only seems practical. Am i wrong?

Sorry my opinion does not matter to you... it does to me. DroidForums will live on sure. New members will not be plagued with the events that have taken place over the last week. So they will be none to the wise about it. And it will be a good site for newbs to join. But I know what has taken place, and do not agree with the outcome. Bottom line is Cyanogen, koush, and the rest of there lackys came here and disrupted this forum. And BlackDroid got the boot! Cayanogn, Koush and all their lackeys should have got the boot for the drama they started here. period! But they did not, now they are just trying to draw members to their IRC channel for help and support. Think they will be here to help to fill the void of helping people? I think not. They will kindly direct you to their site... and to purchase their rom manager that just so happens to still have BD rom on.. pathitc

I originally came here to review cases for my phone. People come here for all sorts of reasons. In fact, this forum did pretty well before BD came, and it will do fine now that he's gone.

This thread is 45 pages long with the past few pages filled with nothing but bickering. I think the people here have had ample opportunity to vent their emotions, and it's now time for a lock.. What do you think admins/mods?
