So once I actually compile cyanogen's source code into a rom it is my own?So once I actually compile Google's open source code into a rom it is my own?
You are correct :icon_ banana:

My proof is having common sense and being around the android scene since the G-1. I know a copy and paste job when i see it. Its not even worth it to explain cause you will never understand.
its nott worth exlpaining it bc you cant
Bottom line BD is gone and droidforums will still be here. Thanks for all of the live wallpapers they look nice on my phone. You guys can carry on without me. Peace :icon_ banana:
++++++++1stop avoiding the question, why no direct contact from koush or cyanogen???
my statement will explain why it took so long, it will not be liles. You dont like us you dont like us, you do like us then thats cool people understand mistakes happen. Not everything is easy to figure out how a mistake this big could happen.
um.... Maybe because the issue wasn't the files. It was bd being an asshole and flaming cm before they even heard about any of this.
+1

Wow, just close it already mods. Nothing else good can come here... it's like being out after 11:00PM. ;-)
So if I compile the code without any changes, it would be mine. How would that effect the MD5 calculations? So once I actually compile cyanogen's source code into a rom it is my own?You are correct :icon_ banana:
Yes your right again :icon_ banana::icon_ banana:

No...
Google releases the source code and says "Take this.. Run with it.. Make it your own.."
At this point, everyone starts on the same level playing field.
You take it, add your own code, take out some of theirs and make it "your" variation on the base of the original source code..
Allegedly, Cyanogen made his mods to the code and compiled it.
BlackDroid then took what Cyanogen created and made it his.
You can't think of it as a chain of "well if BD took what Cyan did... Cyan just took what Google did". Up until the point that Cyanogen got it in the above example, it was open source code that anyone could use.
I'm not arguing one way or another, just trying to explain how it works.

I disagree. What this thread needs is some more flaming, followed by more people arguing from completely entrenched positions and oblivious to whatever anyone else is saying.
This is true in my eyes.I originally came here to review cases for my phone. People come here for all sorts of reasons. In fact, this forum did pretty well before BD came, and it will do fine now that he's gone.

the only one I see here know are the BD "lackeys" to quot an above poster. Stop with the threats of a supporting member leaving, DF failing, you'll see, let's leave and such. Do it if you're gonna do it. The community was here before and it's still here. You just don't like what's been done so now YOU are gonna make the community understand. Here's a newsflash for you: you are doing the same thing you accused CM of doing. In all of your own words, if you don't like it, then move elsewhere. The drama stirring at this point just makes all of you look like fanaticals. We all get what happened. We all have our own opinions. Posting threats of leaving and pulling support and talk of DF failing isn't going to win you any supporters. Stay or go but you look kinda silly wearing the same badge you accused someone else of wearing a day ago.
