May I ask what for, you can install all apps, maps update work. It is at the default setting.. I am curious why you would want that.

This one is set to 600MHz instead of 550MHz.
That might be what he's talking about.
I would just download one of Chevy's kernels and use SetCPU to change it to 550MHz.

I guess but why would you want to underclock. The extra 50 does not kill the battery significantly more. Unless he want for it to say something else in the about phone info.

Well after running this for a bit I can say that I don't see much of a difference in it. You still cannot get flash from the market and apps are still missing from the market like LogMeIn. I think I'm going to go back to my rooted 2.1 till the official vzw release happens.

I don't know if your aware, and you may of already been, the LogMeIn Ignition was a beta app, and they have closed the beta. That's the reason it no longer shows in the market... The market appears to be fixed in this release of 2.2. The official announcement is located here.

Yes, I gave the native launcher a shot, nice.

But, although it has some lag to it, I like ADW with the shortcutbar, and mostly to take labels off of he shortcuts, I can live with it

What I noticed I guess is that if you do this update and you have apps on SD, they are not seen, something that would need to be addressed for future updates, otherwise one would need to throw them all on the phone (if one had room) before doing an update, kinda defeats the purpose.

I'm back and running 1Ghz, with the default LV P3 put on there, funny, when I tried his LV for the first froyo release, the 125 LV didn't work. But heck, now maybe a small extension of batt life...

Thing flies well, tethering app installed, runs great!

As hook said, this is not anything Verizon will ever push out. Verizon isn't ready to push 2.2 out yet and whatever they do make available...this isn't it.

As for how it gets installed, the market update, flash, etc...check out link 1 in my signature. Post 13.

That's the thread for the first 2.2 release. This is the thread for the second (hence "more froyo") release. The instructions there are still valid and point to the file in this thread's first post.

Vzw 2.2 update will be slow, restrictive, closing all root exploits, and probably put a tab on the usb tethering option in the setting so to make sure they are getting paid.
To each his/her own. If you prefer to do things dress right dress, by the book, 100% compliance with your user agreement with vzw. Then I would suggest you wait until August.
