FoxKat's Razr/Maxx Jelly Bean Leak Classroom W/MattyP & Friends

I looked all over the this thread and could not find the answer to the following question. How do I know if I am on .211 or .215. Can you tell me exactly where to look. Im assuming its on the about phone under the settings but cant figure out where exactly it is. By the way, the phone was already rooted when I purchased it from some guy.

Yes under about phone..system version..6.16.211 or 6.16.215...214 is floating around too..

Don't go back to gb. You could brick your phone. 214 was a leak that came out before 211 and 215.

Your best bet is to go back to .211 if you want to be on the JB upgrade path it to go to .215.

Read through these steps, instructions, & threads...

Going back to stock .211:
*On your pc, download and install Matt's Razr Utility 1.8 or 1.81 or 1.82. You can find 1.82 here:
Droid Razr Utility 1.82 [Windows] For Verizon Droid Razr And Droid Razr Maxx Only - DroidRzr.com
*Extract that utility to its own folder on your computer...you must extract the file on your pc. It will not work from your phone.
*After the utility is extracted, go to the Motorola drivers folder in the utility and make sure you have the latest Motorola drivers installed on your pc.
*make sure your phone is set to usb debugging mode (menu>system setting>developer options).
*Power your phone off. Then power your phone on while holding down your power, the volume up and volume down buttons simultaneously.
*Connect your phone to your computer with the factory supplied usb cable.
*On your phone select AP Fastboot, then in the utility select option 1..."restore phone to stock .211. Do not unplug the usb cable until the utility finishes.
*When completed your phone should reboot to stock .211.
*After running option 1, restart phone to make sure all is fine.

Install the .215 leak:
*check to make sure usb debugging mode is checked (menu-> system setting-> developer options).
*Then in settings, go to “Security" and check “Unknown sources."
*install the .215 leak following instructions here:
http://www.droidforums.net/forum/droid-razr-support/217843-mattyps-215-leak-classroom.html

Root your og Razr or Razr Maxx:
*Simple step by step instructions for rooting using Mattlgroff's utility (use the same utility that you used to go back to stock) can be found on post #89 here:
http://www.droidforums.net/forum/droid-razr-hacks/216562-droid-razr-utility-1-8-a-9.html
*If you plan on installing roms, install safestrap instead of bootstrap.

Safestrap:
*Once safestrap is installed, follow the steps in quidot's thread to prepare safestrap's safe and non-safe side so you are ready for those roms... http://www.droidforums.net/forum/droid-razr-hacks/200942-safestrap-guide-razr.html

Thanks Tis! I read through the thread and it had said if you were on a leak .75, then to revert back to .181 in order to receive ICS .211. Hopefully we didn't scare/confused the OP..

Yeah, I think if you're on a gb leak, then you have to go back to the official gb181 to be able to upgrade to ICS but if you're already on ICS, you have to be on ICS 211 to get an official OTA.

Now, I hope I didn't confuse anyone. .. because it is definitely confusing.

still here, following

Im still here following the thread.. wont jump into doing it until there is a definite answer on how to go about this... not that I doubt anyone posting but I really want at least two people to agree on a method before I jump into doing anything. By the way thanks for all your help, everyone.

I'm with U, Haniel!
This thread is the TOPS! Info and folks ar great, friendly, and knowledgable!⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I'm sure waiting, while listening, is a great choice.

Read this thread. It looks like you had to revert back to GB.181 in order to get the update to .211.

http://www.droidforums.net/forum/dr...1-6-now-contains-6-12-181-fastboot-files.html

I believe you want to fallow this one that GotnFX put up. The issues with what Tis suggested is you havent gotten the .211 update yet because your on a leaked version of ICS and not the official one. So you need to downgrade back to the .181 in order to goto the .211 and beyond. Once your on .181 you may get the .211 update automatically and then you can fallow what Tis suggested to root and get the .215 patch. If it doesn't auto update to .211 then you'll have to find the file to side load it.

But I would read through that whole thread on the 1.6 utility before doing anything.

I hear ya hanielserrato! Tis is very knowledgeable and for me, I'd trust her...but I understand your cautiousness..Foxkat, MattyP and Sydman are also a few names that have helped me..hopefully someone can help put you at ease and confirm what is needed.
