what is everyone using to monitor the temp of their cpu? for some reason temp monitor will not work with p3droids kernel. it says something about the tazmanian devil kernel not installed? i have used this app for a while now and flashed a lot of different kernels and all of them worked untill this one. please someone help i am very picky about monitoring my phones cpu temp as i am sure many of you can understand why

This kernel is still sketchy. I'm sure every dev out there is working on this, but I know that jake is supposed to be releasing something later today that will fix this. As of now, we don't have access to cpu temp. It's coming, though.

yeah i agree 100% that it does sketch me out a little bit, i hope someone puts out a kernel fast so i can monitor what's going on with my phone. i'm a control freak when it comes to that ****

I am using the purchased temp monitor and it has not given me any issues

yeah the reg temp works but not the cpu temp.

Hey guys, I've been roaming this site since I got my Droid and signed up recently. Love this site. Now my question: I'm wondering if anybody else is getting the problem when trying to install the 2.2 ROM through Clockwork Recovery. I have been following the instructions, but when it tries to install it says the following:

Checking MD5 sums...
Erasing boot before restore...
REstoring boot image...
Error while flashing boot image!

I have been trying to get this to work for several hours now and can't seem to figure it out. I'm currently on Cyanogenmod with luna theme, but have also tried installing with 2.1 with root access and tried installing through SPRecovery. Your assistance will greatly be appreciated, thank you.

Same problem with me. I've used ClockworkMod & SPR.. Nothing seems to be working.

just battery temps it wont let me monitor the cpu temp. i tried ALL the kernels p3droid gave us with this ROM. when i go to check cpu temp in settings of temp monitor it says tazmanian devil custom kernel is not installed. i emailed the dev and he said that it's a old message, and that a lot of the kernels have something in them that allows the app to read them ( most of the new kernels ) he said it's up to the dev to put the tweak in the kernel itself and there is no problem with the app. i hope someone comes out with some new ones tonight

Have you tried formating sytem and boot first from the partitions menu? I always run down the line of all four and hit them twice after hitting factory reset and wipe cache first, just to be sure. Also, are you sure you downloaded the correct nandroid and have it in the right folder?

Looks like I am only getting battery temps now that I pay closer attention. I was looking at both temp monitor and setcpu and they show the same temperature. I guess it is the battery temp I am reading ..sorry for the misunderstanding

My guess is that you either didnt restore your data or u didnt back it up at all when u did a nandroid backup.

Try and restore it again and make sure all check boxes are checked, if it still does not work, well ... 'oops'

Yes, I've downloaded from the two other mirrors and tried to install. Still nothing. I'm doing the step by step now as suggested by c0y0te and will try installing again.

It has more options and they are easier to change. not sure if the quality of the pictures it takes has improved much tho, havent used it much

If you guys are using different recovery images, make sure you keep the nandoids straight. There are different downloads for each recovery. Make sure you don't have any extra folders in your directory tree when unzipping.

If using spr, I recommend wiping system and boot a few times with adb. Maybe I'm superstitious, but it couldn't hurt given your circumstances. I'd like to know if that helps, btw.
