Froyo Release Thread

I loaded it all on and here is what I found:

Loaded easily with clockwork
I loaded 1.25 kernel and it clocks to 1100 not 1250
Wireless works
Wireless tether does not work.
I will go back to BB1.1 until 2.2 has the wireless tether, something I use regularly.

Thanks and keep those ROMS coming!

sigh it was working fine and now im getting tons of Force closes on the launchers its so irritating... guess ill have to wait until all this is fixed =[

Gotta admit I tried froyo 2.2 on my motorola droid twice and it sucked mad slow.

Not its 5:45pm and tried it again and all of a sudden runs good lol... yay I'm keeping it for a while to see how it runs. :)

For the person who was able to move 3 to the SD card - I was unable to move that. The only thing I can move is setcpu, but I don't want to move that anyway. Also, it no longer shows my partition when looking at the SD card/phone storage, but I could swear that the amount of memory I have remaining would include what I had partitioned previously. So, what do you guys think? Invisible partition out in droid space? Should I reformat my SD card and re-partition (I already copied it to my computer so it's no big deal)? Or should I just wait it out for a few days to see what comes next?
i wouldnt bother repartitioning...mine is partitioned and isnt showing either...its an early build and everything isnt going to work right so keep that in mind...give it time to fix bugs and smooth out issues

Yeah - first time I installed it I eventually got all my apps auto-restored, and it looked like it was going to be OK, but then began to start freezing...

I did a lot of battery pulls/restarts to no avail.

did you let it just sit for like a half hour and sync up? it has to do that then it will fly

Has anyone experienced lockups w/this ROM that they have found a resolution for?

I have tried twice now, full reset/wipes before installing, tried the stock kernel and the 1GHz release, and my phone will consistently hang up - non-responsive, generally requiring a restart...happens very quickly after reboot, don't really have to do much.

Any suggestions appreciated - flashed back to my 5.0.7.1 CM ROM in the meantime...

For some reason my setcpu is staying at 600mhz and not the 1.2ghz I set it to. 1.2max 250min, scaling on demand

any ideas?

I just checked, and Wireless Tether works for me!

Maps update fix

I'm using Clockwork, so I'm not sure if this will work for SPR, but I don't see why not. I was able to repeat this twice just to make sure it worked, so here'e the process:

1. Using Root Explorer (or ADB) move Maps.apk to the SD card
2. restart the phone
3. install Maps.apk from the SD card (not from the Market)
4. Go to Settings-->Applications-->Manage Applications-->All and find Maps
5. Click on "Clear Data" and the "Uninstall"
6. You should now be able to go to the Market and install it from there

Hulu

anyone have "incompatible" error when trying hulu? everything loaded...flash was definitely running....but when i tried to play a video it said incompatible
