Fusion ROM Beta (Gingerbread) - Droid Incredible

A question if I might.

I have recently come form a Moto Droid 1, have not really kept up wiht the Droid Inc news and information as I am attempting to do now.

I ran across an article that said that the Droid Inc was going to be updated to Wifi N and there is a hack out there that does this as well. The articles were dated back in June.

Did this happen? Does Fusion support or install Wifi N? Was there an update that persists through a flash of a custom ROM that retains Wifi N (if HTC released it)

The Droid Inc does support wifi of up to five devices but cost extra through Verizon. If you root your phone and get the fusion rom or download the wifi tether app you can share your internet with other or your laptop for free and it is unlimited!

I am not sure if you were trying to answer my question here.

I know about Wifi Tether, I have used it many time on my old Moto Droid 1. I am questioning if HTC ever activated the Incredible's Wifi N capability. Or if Incredible ROM's include that ability.

@ultradroid

This is a blast and all the help you guys provide is phenominal :icon_ banana:

LOL! I'm glad I could help. :)

Us oldtimers gotta stick together, and "help" is what everyone on this forum does. Every last one of us were noobies at one time, and every last one of us messed up on occasion (myself included) and NEEDED help from others. What goes around, comes around. Never be afraid to ask for any help you need.

@ultradroid The message above about the android process occurs when I try to download from the market. Could that be corrupt. If so is there a fix

Fiirst try going into your Settings, and under Applications, find Manage Applications. Under Downloaded, scroll down to Market - it should be alphabetical - under Market you should see a kind of highlighted button saying Clear cache. Hit that button and it should delete the existing cache for the Market. Now go back and open Market and try downloading something. It should have resolved your problem. If not, post back here, and we'll try something else. :)

Thanks but that didn't work. waqs thinking of reinstalling the rom and gapps to start over.

OK, that would be my next suggestion...other than, maybe trying the "Fix Permissions" utility in Rom Manager. Ever use that feature?

It has the effect of going in and making sure that the myriad number of apps all have the correct "permission" to do what they were designed to do. I'm not a tech expert - more of an "end user", if you will - but I've used that (sparingly) with some success in the past. If you're not bothered by reinstalling the rom, then *that* is the better option. It should definitely solve the problem with the Market.
