Gingerbread.....i want it now !!!!!!!!!!!!

and the one good thing about virus, NO DRAMA!! he manages a sprint store, has an evo, and an evo 3d. his GF has the bolt, yet he still manages to get new builds to us ALMOST everynight. and so far if there is a big issue it gets fixed within HRS! i have been very happy and will not be switching anytime soon. hope u have the same good luck as i have!

Before you do anything else. Do a nandroid backup of your current setup..so you can revert if you need to.

Download the MR 2.5 radio HERE. To install a radio. rename PG05IMG.zip and move to root of SD card. Power off phone. Hold volume down button while powering on. This will boot you into Hboot. Then press power button once...it will find the update...then ask you if you want to install. Press Volume UP for yes...let it install...once done...press power to reboot. (personally the MR2 radio gives me the best reception where Im located, it varies for each user)

After you reboot, go rename that radio zip to MR2.5PG05IMG.zip and move it or you can leave it there. I created a folder specifically for radios and roms on my sd card...and name them accordingly.

I cant post the link to Gingeritis 1.1 because Chingy requests not to. You can register at themikmick forums (takes a few seconds and its worth it)...then all support will be handled there. Chingy ditched XDA because he is sensitive to some moron complaining about his rom autowiping during the flash and losing texts...which He shouldve backed up first anyway. The only issue i have with gingeritis is the voicemail notification stays after listening to the voicemail. it goes away after reboot...but this has been similar on just about every gb rom ive tried.

TO install a rom, you do the same as the D1 (assuming you had one), just put the zip on the root of sd card, boot to recovery, wipe data, wipe cache, go to mounts and storage format /system (careful DO NOT format /sdcard!!!).

Then just install zip from sdcard, choose zip, and install. You will be scrolling with the volume buttons and choosing with the power button while in recovery.

Thats it. Netflix is included in the rom i believe. If not...go here and follow the latest releases. Old releases will give a popup saying a new version is available and want you upgrade. People post the new versions up all the time so you can update. (until netflix makes compatible with the tbolt)

TONS of new development at xda dev. Check out the forums. Thunderbolt Android Development - xda-developers

If you want to go back to froyo, i recommend bamf 1.8.6....it works with the MR2 and MR2.5 radios.

Sorry for the long post. Check your PMs.

Help! I'm not getting a 4g or 3g signal after flashing the MR2.5 Rom... also I'm not sure how to 'boot to recovery, wipe data, wipe cache, go to mounts and storage format /system (careful DO NOT format /sdcard!!!).'

Dont forget I'm still a newb...

If u followed the first step and did install the radio, then u need to install a compatible ROM....tell me the steps u took so far and we will get u up and going. It's hard to not freak out but don't worry we will help u all the way :)

OK so you're saying it won't work until I put Gingerbread on?

Right, the stock Rom isn't compatible with that radio, now u need to get a Rom. Either go where yakitori told u for gingeritis, or I posted a link a little bit up for synergy. Both excellent roms. Did u rename the radio like he said after u flashed it? That is a CRUCIAL step

To be honest I deleted it after I flashed it. I just put it back out there and renamed it to what he suggested. Are you familiar with what he means when he says, 'boot to recovery, wipe data, wipe cache, go to mounts and storage format /system (careful DO NOT format /sdcard!!!).' How do I do that? Is that through Rom Manager?

Hold on, just read ur post again...if u didn't make a backup yet THAT NEEDS TO BE UR NEXT STEP!! Did u install Rom manager after u rooted? If u did did u flash clockwork recovery?

Ok, in Rom manager did u flash clockwork recovery? It's the first thing listed when u ooen it up? If u didn't, do it now. If u did...here's the next step ;

Power off the phone, power it on holding down on the volume (just like u did to flash the radio) this time it won't go straight to loading the radio since u renamed it. U will see a list of options use the volume button to scroll down to the "recovery" option, and select it. That should go straight into clockwork recovery. Then scroll down with the volume button to "backup and restore" hit the home button and select backup. That will ensure u will have a way to go back. The backup will take a minute.

While that's going now is the time to download a Rom from ur comp, that will take a min swell
