GOODBYE Thunderbolt - After 1 week of constant battery drainage, i gave up

I purchased the Siedio slim extended (1600 mah) and I get about 24-27 hours off the charger depending on use. I keep it on WIFI.

By those numbers I should get 50 hrs when i get the 2750.

P.s. Someone who is getting GREAT battery, can they post what apps they are using to maybe help the battery? It would be cool if some people who are getting really good battery post some things about how their phone is running, and what apps they use?

The problem I think is some of us have background apps running that may destroy the battery

I anticipated the stock battery would suck so I bought the extended battery with the phone and I go the entire day with heavy use no problem. I love not having to worry about the battery like I did on my OG Droid.

You don't think you were being unreasonable, but you were... you simply can't run a business like that. The only places that have that kind of time and/or ability to offer those services are "mom & pop" shops, and I don't believe that there are any mom & pop cell phone stores.

Maybe I was being unreasonable. The sad part is that mom and pop stores are becoming a thing of the past. We are not given the same type of customer service with large corporations and we've come to the point where we don't expect it or demand it. If we want the service, we do it on their terms whether we like how we are treated or not. That is the way the world works, but I don't have to like it. I guess I grew up at a time where good customer service could make or break a company. I have to agree that there is no feasable way for them to check every phone, but not every person has problems, nor does every phone.

Battery was set to automatic (so around 20-25%), I changed it to the lowest possible now which is LOW. But when I change the brightness through the power widget, it doesnt bring it back to the lowest point it brings back to automatic when I lower it.

Take the Auto-brightness off, then slide it down to about 20-30% when you are inside. (If the sun is out, put it back up to close to 100%.)

Settings are the way people have them to conserve battery, I even took off 4G. I'm on my second charge right now, the battery has been running for 2.5 hours on 3G, with some texts (like 20) and it's at 80%....BUT, when I open the phone I literally watch the percentage drop every time the screen is on. The rest of the time it doesn't kill battery. When I use my phone minimally, it loses 1% every 3 mins or so, when I use the internet it uses 1% every 40 seconds or so (max)....

Sounds like if you fix your display brightness, it will fix this issue. The other thing to check is how often/when your Accounts all Sync.

ALSO, when I restart the phone it kills anywhere from 10-20 percent. Why is that? Before I had it charging, it read 65 and I restarted the phone while charging and it jumped to 91. In a matter of seconds.

I think the stock battery meter may be flawed. I installed an app called "Battery Left" and it gives very detailed stats as to what's left on the charge, how long you have left, how long it will take to charge. It also shows a history of reports, and if you go into "Usage" and then click on an app that is using the majority of your battery, press it and it will show you exactly what is using the battery and/or take you to the settings for that feature. I have the 1x1 widget on my home screen and purchased the pro version so I could have multiple battery profiles.

I use JUST the TB charger that Verizon gave me? I used a charger I had before which I used for my DX as well and it fits, and charges it, but does it hurt the battery in any way?

Doubtful unless is is one of those cheap-o 3rd party eBay ones. I have noticed that the chargers that plug into the wall and/or car chargers seem to charge the phone a lot quicker than the USB cable plugged into my computer does.

I did too but the idiots at verizon messed up my order, my phone was supposed to be here yesterday I called them and they hadn't even shipped it cause of confirmation or something they told me...I lost my mind, I think they were getting high and forgot to send my phone. So I picked it up at the store.

Which extended do you have, the monster?

WorldOfJohnboy seems like a lot of trouble just to save a little battery. If it last 8 hours I'd be fine with it.

I have the 2750mAh and will only use it if I am travelling (It will be great for flights, etc. when you don't have the ability to charge it and/or don't want to swap batteries).

I also ordered a spare standard battery and a wall charger/dock for the batteries. That is what I will do for my normal days... use the phone until the battery dies, swap in the charged battery and charge the dead battery.

Why is there stocks, weather, news and all that crap under accounts/sync you can't even remove them. I changed it a little better, I put everything to never update. My mail (aol) was updating every 15 mins apparently, the rest were ok.

It's not the stock battery, I use something called battery indicator. I used it on my dx as well and it worked really. It's small and didn't use battery.

The charger I think is from my storm or something, or D1 idk. I remember it worked well on my last 3 phones though.

Too many things to buy! I wanted a car charger, a wall dock, but I spent enough on the phone and the extended battery I wish they'd give us this stuff for free. I'm hoping the camel hump battery doesn't just weight the phone down, but helps it.

(snip) My mail (aol) was updating every 15 mins apparently, the rest were ok. (snip)

That may have been the culprit... I know polling email every 15 minutes killed my Droid X battery.

What about your Brightness? The TBolt also has a widget you can install that will change the brightness from 33% to 66% to 100%. Mine is at the low setting unless I am in the Sunlight.

Mine is at 0% right now lol. Are you talking about the power widget, which has bluetooth, wifi, refresh etc on it? I was using that, but at 33% the battery flies too.
