Guess I just don't see what the iphone has to offer, regardless of the carrier.

Like Fine China...the iPhone is special. If you aren't careful it will break.
Seriously...the iPhone has Facetime which is sweet and as a Mac owner (an iMac and a MacBook Pro) Facetime is a huge draw. It also has a beautiful screen with super high resolution. I could care less about apps...so the app store does nothing for me.
What it doesn't offer is screen size. I currently have a Storm2 and am ready for more screen real estate. So for me...I am willing to trade resolution for size on my next phone.
Ok, let's compare the iPhone with the subject of this thread, the Incredible HD. Key points.
- Front Camera - equal.
- Screen? Size: Incredible HD wins if bigger is better. Resolution wins in iP4. But the Incredible HD's resolution will not be a drawback in any way--regardless what it is.
- Processor, RAM? More or less equal one would assume with the Incredible HD proably taking the cake. Of course, if the Verizon iPhone has different specs then ATT? Then I'm not sure. Either way, I couldn't say there would be much difference?
So really as far as Hardware, I think it comes down to if you want a giant 4.3" screen or if you think that is excessive. (Many believe 4.3" is excessive... but because Android can be found on dozens of different styles of phones, this is not a single reason to go to the iPhone.)
Software, however, is a different beast. Obviously this is an Android forum but I will try to be fair.
- If you have many Mac devices, like iTunes and utilize in a big way (especially for media), then I suppose the iPhone is the no-brainer.
- iOS vs Android = Do I want a phone that is just "functional" or do I want power? Some people, just want a functional phone, they don't care about customization, they simply want to post on Facebook, get directions, check out what is playing at the local theater, and have a seamless experience to text/call. Then the iPhone is perfectly fine for you. If you want to tweak, adjust, and rather have an app that is for a power user rather (WiFi Analyzer, etc) as opposed to an app store full of games and retail apps (Walmart, Pizza hut, etc), then Android wins.
- With the Incredible HD, you get the added benefits of the new HTCsense.com This is a huge draw to some.
So all in all, I am not going to say the iPhone 4 is bad: It is a solid phone, physically nice looking in the design, awesome display, a smooth OS, polished apps. But seriously, even if it is equal or close... there is one deal breaker here....
.... why would you want to support an arrogant hack like Steve Jobs and his socialistic policies????
